So, I recently reinstalled Gothic 2 and went through the process of modding it to run smoothly on my computer. That's when I found out the game has received two major modifications in the past year or so, the DX11 mod and the L'Hiver mod, which not only applies new textures but rebalances the whole game. Naturally, I wanted to try both.

But information is scarce in English about those modifications, and I also found out just now about the Returning mod, which also has many nice changes to the base game, but some people say it's incompatible with L'Hiver. And apparently I have that mod installed, despite the fact I never downloaded it. Maybe it was installed along with the Player Kit or the System Pack?

Anyway, I followed what little instructions I could find (basically, the ones on this post) and installed everything but Vurt's texture mod (as it would clash with L'Hiver textures AFAIK).

The game looks modded for sure, new paths, new structures in the city, my HP only goes up by 5 when I level up, I can't take meat from animals I kill, etc... but I've tried to Google translate the changelog for L'Hiver, and there are many things mentioned there that I haven't seen in my game, most obvious of all the greater variety in sleep options, like naps and such, and the optional dialogue with Xardas at the beginning, where I was supposed to be able to adjust the game difficulty (not that I'd like to, but the option is not there). So it seems the mod wasn't applied fully, or maybe it wasn't applied at all and the modifications I see in my game are all from The Returning mod. All I know is that the splash screen before the game starts says "The Returning", and when the game launches, the starting screen says "L'Hiver edition"...

So, to sum it all up, my question is... how do I go about modding Gothic 2 to use The Returning AND L'Hiver together with all the rebalancing, or is it even possible at all? If it's not, which one should I install, and how should I go about doing it? What changes does each mod make in the game, to help me choose? Which ones do you personally reccomend?
