I've run into multiple guides and helps leading to different versions of player kits, game patches, ect. However I can not install any of the above , because everything I try refuses to acknowlege the game folder for what it is.

Please help.

All fan patches require you to install this patch first:
http://dl1.worldofplayers.ru/games/gothic/patches/G2/gothic2_fix-2.6.0.0-rev2.exe

It replaces the Gothic2.exe with a developer version, that has no copy protection and a few debugging flags enabled.

Great stuff mate, if you would check you would find that patch in the google zip that I've linked.
Anyhow I've tried your's and it does not recognize the folder as gothic stuff as shown in the attached screen shot.

That's weird. You can extract the Gothic2.exe from the setup file with 7zip and manually put it into "...\Gothic 2 Gold\system". The other setups should work afterwards.

Works wonders, thank you very much. After replacing manualy the Gothic2.exe , the player kit and patch worked by themselves.
