Hello.
I have some trubble with the audio in the game, it seems like it plays the voicetrack 3 times just after each other, making it a pain to listen to the conversations.
I tried to tell ffdshow audio to not bother whit gorky17.exe but that had no effect on ingame audio. anyone got some solution?

You could try to lower audio HW acceleration in DXDIAG menu.
Or uninstall whatever codec packs you use and install just pure cccp (cccp-project.net).

Not tried the HW aceleration, I am allready running pure cccp codec, so many fansubs use it. ;)
I have managed to "fix" it a little, by removing and reinstalling cccp. I still get choppy audio, but atleast it now only play the voice one time. its still choppy tough.
(note, it was also choppy without any codec packs installed).
Edit, migth have been to quick on that, choppy and the voice 3 times on it self. sigh.

Try it ;) I've made test on my machine (WinXP) and there is no audio problem with HW Audio set to off.

Woke up a few hours ago, and tried, this seems to have done the trick.
Hmm, hope a patch for this comes, so I don't need to have audio acceleration off in the future. ;)

Do you realize Vista doesn't have a sound hardware acceleration slider ? I'm terribly dissapointed with this release, i must play with missing textures or with a choppy sound.

From Vista onwards, DirectSound no longer supports hardware acceleration; this is why the slider has been removed. As such, it is as if the slider has already been set to the far left position.

So... is there any solution to sound problems on Vista apart from turning on HW acceleration graphics and not seeing the characters? (I realize how old this thread is)

I'm having the same question... This issue is far from solved :-(
Wow. GOG either can't resolve this or really doesn't care anymore. I bought this game and am still unable to play it. Shame.
Well as odd as it may be my choppy audio sound is gone when I change windows 95 compability mode to windows XP SP2 or simply disable compability mode. So I finally can play the game in software mode with sound.. (I didn't uninstall any codec pack or anything, just changed windows compability mode).
I must say like alot of other people on this forum that I am (for the first time) disapointed with a GoG release/lack of support.
