It's no secret for people that has been following development of this game that it has been differentiated between steam and gog. Changes are made to the steam version and once stable they are applied to the gog version. So patches come later to GOG. Now the game has been released on steam and I was told gog users will have to wait "a week or two roughly".

My main concern with this is that it seems the steam version is the dev's main focus, and it worries me that somewhere down the line gog version will just stop being supported.

I wonder:
How's post-launch support going to be for this version of the game?
If there's an issue that happens in the gog version but not on steam will it be addressed?

They don't even bother releasing the 1.0 version of the game, these developers are a bunch of baboons and should be banned from gog since they don't give a shit.
Developers have limited resources. That is doubly true for a small developer.

It make sense to pick a primary platform and prioritize it. IF the user base is higher on Steam, than it makes sense that is their initial focus.

It's pretty common for games to release on Steam before they make it to GOG. In some cases it takes a *long* time (months/years) for games to make it to GOG and many never do.

I was an early supporter on GOG and while I'm a bit disappointed to have to wait for the full release, as long as it's not an unreasonable wait, it's no big deal.

Can you confirm that the game will always be updated and have parity with the Steam version? If so, I'll buy it immediately.

So during development Steam users would beta-test new releases, and GOG users get the stable version after the bugs have been found and addressed. That's honestly not bad at all.

Why would they stop supporting it? That would just anger and alienate their users - which is generally bad business, particularly for a small dev. They released the full, 1.0 version on GOG a week later, just like they said. They did the hard part of finishing the game, now it's on to the much easier job of just maintaining it by fixing any residual bugs that come up.

I think we need to be a little patient and keep in mind that this is a small developer with limited resources. Let the Steam users be the beta testers - waiting a week or two for them to find all the bugs for us seems well worth it to be able to enjoy a better, more stable, bug free game.
