Hi guys,

We have uploaded a new version of Giana Sisters: Rise of the Owlverlord that has been optimized to run better on Windows XP. Yes, that's the changelog , sorry it's not a long one :)

Thanks and have a nice day :)
That's great news, because the GSGameExe_DX9.exe no longer links to DirectX 11 libraries (the only reason why it did not work on Windows XP). And now i can run the game with Wine (winetricks xact_jun2010 wmp9 dotnet40).

At this point ,more indi devs should use OpenGL/SDL and avoid DirectX in the first place.
I'm not able to run it in Wine. I installed xact_jun2010 and wmp9 and dotnet40 with winetricks and the launcher runs but when I click play all I get is a black screen, then a dialog box pops up with

Fatal Error
Shaders
\SBCompiledShaderPass.cpp::SBShaderSource::CreateVertexShader(484)
Vertex Shader Fail

and it never starts. Anybody seen this before?

If I'm not mistaken, downloading previous versions of directx won't erase or replace the newer libraries. And it's kinds required if you want to try older games, because of syntax changes. At least that's what I've read, and it seems to work.
