Yes, it does.

MarkoH01: Yes, it does.
Well, I'll have to make a backup of all my Galaxy folders then. ;) If they ever grant me access. >:(

I would not worry too much - the import for me went astoundingly smooth and fast and everything was automatic.
Also: reinstalling Galaxy 1.0 in case it should be necessary imo is a piece of cake. Install, seach folders - done.

Actually I seem to have a Problem with that. Did get the installer for 2.0 of a friend, tried it - but was not invited. So now i have a Galaxy 2.0 I can not use.

And when I want to install Galaxy 1.2 it just says there is a newer version of galaxy (2.0).

I am a bit scared of uninstalling 2.0, since i do not want to lose all my files i have already installed.

Uninstalling Galaxy will never remove the game files as well - only Galaxy specific folders and entrys. I uninstalled and reinstalled Galaxy 1 a dozen times and never had problems. I really doubt that it would be different with Galaxy 2.

Edit: Just tried it and it works fine uninstalling Galaxy 2 and reinstalling Galaxy 1.2. After that you will have to rescan your folders to import your games but that's normal.

I got the invite and my brother didn't. Now he's locked out from using the client and his library. Yes, we know that the games can be accesed through the website, but the automatic updates are super convenient.

Also, come on, this is just a dumb way of handling the whole beta installation.
1st come 1st served is a ok way to invite people

If this was aimed at my "dumb" comment, then I'll clarify: I meant that making the Beta overwrite the 1.2 client is dumb.
1st come 1st served is ok and completely understandable.

Oof! Fingers crossed they speed up the process.
Thanks for your advice. Uninstalled 2.0, Reinstalled 1.2 and scanned for my games. Worked like a charm.

Have a nice weekend!
In fact it will NOT replace your old Galaxy installation. The default installation folders are two seperate folders and installations. The only thing that might get replaced are your shortcuts on Desktop etc, because they're named the same.
But look at your installation folders and you will find both installations. It won't overwrite your old Galaxy installation.
The default folder for the old installation is "GalaxyClient", while the default folder for the new 2.0 is "GOG Galaxy". You will find both versions still there and can start both (though not at the same time), if you installed 2.0.
