I Signed up around 24 june And still haven't an invite though it looks like
GOG is following a first come first serve policy. because i hear strange post around this forum that they have gotten their. I don't want to believe that GOG cherry-pick the people they want for the closed beta. but...
I got mine yesterday. It's an intriguing promise of things to come, but as others have stated far from feature-complete. Tag support is broken and incomplete, it's still impossible to import games not on the existing platforms (direct purchases, discs), the image import for third-party platforms is spotty.

If you're waiting for the beta invite in the hope of a feature-complete enhancement to Galaxy, you're setting yourself up for a disappointment. There's still a lot of work to be done here.
Good to know! I wasn't really expecting much but I'm a little surprised about some of the stuff I've been hearing about the client here and on other places.

Not a deal breaker for me personally but I agree, everyone should keep their expectations a little low I guess

I was hyped for it and I'm quite satisfied already.
Anyone who registered on 23th got his invite ?
As they are inviting people in order they registered and it took around 2 weeks to get only to the people that registered one hour late on 22nd, I doubt anybody who registered on 23rd already got their intivation. At least I didn't and I guess it will be another few weeks until I'm in.
We're constantly sending invites at increasing rate so hopefully you'll get in sooner than later. Fingers crossed!
I just got my invite today. I did sign up when the 2.0 was announced, so they haven't forgotten you.
i only found out about 2.0 like 3 days ago LOL

When GOG Galaxy 2.0 was announced we were told

"please be patient as we’re sending invites on a first come first served basis"

Sorry that I doubt this is true or being respected. I signed up on the 24th June, just a couple of hours after the twitter announcement and still waiting. Many people have already confirmed access having signed up way later.

Dissapointed that even almost after a month you keep saying that invites are being sent. How many invites do you send per day? 50? 100? C'mon, you know that it's not first come first served, I'm guessing it has to do with activity, game library, maybe if you have a youtube channel or are some sort of influencer.

If it would be first come first served and you say sooner or later, just don't accept any more requests, they won't see the invite anyway until next year or probably it will be out of beta anyway...
why gog can't send invites to everyone at once? it's not like you have to craft hand written invitation for every person invited.
why people have to wait for weeks while others already actively use it?
it's discriminating and unfair. so far I saw only youtubers to showcase it, none of people I know got their invitation.
if you intended to allow access for only selected few influencers that's fine, but you had to be more specific who and when gets their invitation rather than lying about free access to it.

registrations opened on the 22nd. you were days late, thats why your invite is taking so long

calm down, theyre not lying. if you signed up youll get your invite eventually, there are just a ton of people who registered before you. the app is pretty barebones right now anyway, youre not missing a lot

it's now like I'm hyped to start using it because realistically I won't be able to even if I had invite ready, I'm on Linux and gog decided to drop Linux support for Galaxy. I'm saying about general trend here: they promised Linux port for Galaxy during last 5 years, saying it is in progress and never gave any estimate or confirmation if it will ever happen.
Now they're doing the same for all users, everyone have to wait for weeks, teased with youtube showcases from influencers. what do you mean "eventually"? are we living in some sort of soviet communism where you had to waste weeks in live queue to buy basic food or clothes? your reply fails to address my main concern - discrimination of users via delays in distribution. You try to rationalize but it does not work that way. Even if you devalue something it won't solve initial issue.

and to explain why I said that gog lies about Galaxy is their twitter post
https://twitter.com/GOGcom/status/1131228901437526016

they said it will be available for all gaming platforms but it's clearly not the case. by definition gaming platforms are PCs or consoles built to play games. it should cover Windows, Mac and Linux PCs. They lied about availability for everyone.

Because it is very likely their servers would crash if thousands of users would start connecting their accounts on multiple different services. They want to monitor properly how much data is roughly transferred during those connections, as they don't have any way knowing how many games each user has on their accounts. This will help them adjust their services so, that it will be ready even for those who have thousands of titles on their accounts.
