How do I fix this?

Same problem here...
Some infos can be found in this 2 threads. The fixes there might work for you (for me they did not )

The plugin developer also has been working on the issue. You may want to check with them and upload your logs if they need it. I did notice that they uploaded a new version of the plugin yesterday.

try it
More simple instructions:
If you have GOG 2.0 Galaxy Steam offline problem, just go to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\GOG.com\plugins\installed\steam folder and search file named protobuf_client.py and open it with a WordPad, find socket.gethostname() and change it with 'localhost' with the quotes.

I don't use Galaxy.
I'm bumping this post as I have this issue currently and I cannot find the file specified in the above posts to edit it, neither did I find any thread that was better suited to post in.

What's the deal here? I only have the file protobuf-3.10.0-py3.7-nspkg.pth and it doesnt contain anything like in the above posts, yet the issue is exactly the same.

Same here. None of the fixes suggested here or elsewhere (like uninstalling/reinstalling Galaxy) have worked. Steam works perfectly fine, yet the integration says it's offline and can't connect.

Still getting this also, have tried everything including reinstalling.
Steam integration doesnt work and "FriendsOfGalaxy" who created most of the unoffical plugin has abandoned their projects since 2021. Steam integration is the most important integration since most of the gamers have tons of games in their steam account. It was a fun ride, i think it is the end this journey.

The funny thing is that I was able to integrate it with GoG Galaxy (GG) earlier this year... or was that late last year? Anyway... the fact is that it worked! I am experiencing this for the first time with GG now, on an old laptop. I am going to go on the PC now and either screenshot it working there or see that the issue exists there also. Either way, I will update it here... brb.

UPDATE:
UBISOFT and STEAM show up on my laptop. Albeit both have connectivity issues, as seen in the steam and ubisoft on gg.png.

On my PC, neither of them show up at all, despite them both being accessible earlier on this year (2023).

Ah well.

Same here. It would be great GoG makes an official integration for Steam

I agree 100%! If GOG 2.0 can't Steam integration working then this program is useless.

Official Steam integration requires collaboration with Valve, which is highly unlikely.
