Hi,

I was organizing my gog 2.0 library and noticed something strange while going through the Legacy of Kain serie :

I have "Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain" on steam, I can see it in GOG Galaxy, but the default title says "Blood Omen : Legacy of Kain"
The release Year is correct (2002), but there is a screenshot from the first game (1996). The "media" part is correct with pictures clearly showing "Blood Omen 2". I cannot edit the page, is there a feature that I missed allowing to suggest a change to a game info ?

Also, I have the first game on disc and I wanted to add it, but I can't find it with the search (probably because of the problem above).

Cheers and keep up the good work ! I love Galaxy 2.0 !

I can confirm this, and also report it happening with Race Driver GRID (2008) which gets seen as GRID (2019)

I see the problem is a mismatch between the game's steam title ("Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain") and the gaming database GOG Galaxy uses to pull all games' information (a (igbd; not owned by gog). The "correct" title would actually be: "Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2" (https://www.igdb.com/games/legacy-of-kain-blood-omen-2). You'll see then from that database page how every info should match the game accordingly. That means, of course, you (we) can't edit anything in the game's page on GOG Galaxy directly, because it's 'pulled' (wrongly, because it considers the game's name incorrectly) directly from that site/database. The only thing as far as I know you can do for now is to edit the game's title / media on its GOG Galaxy's page, but that fixes little (?).

Besides that, I don't see an easy solution on our end: I'd suggest you send all this info as a 'report issue' (you can include the info I wrote in the first paragraph, might help) and perhaps GOG's team can under the hoods "equate" both game names (the one from steam - "Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain") and the one from the database ("Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2")... so that all the info shown is correctly. Or, they can directly change the online database itself for that page (even some people here have done that, which I would not recommend).

Anyway, sorry if that's too much information haha. Just focus on the bold phrase above. :) It'd help GOG's team in this beta phase.

Noooow, about the 'the first game on disc'... I only happen to own "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver", on steam, and had no issues with it. But I assume that's not the one you own, can you elaborate the exact title's game and how are you searching for it? Sometimes, depending on how you rearrange the game's title, the search might work. It's not necessarily the same problem above, though it may be.

Cheers

(I'm not affiliated with GOG in anyway btw, we are just a bunch of users here trying to help as much as we can :) )

It's a similar problem as the OP, but in your case those are 2 different games, I think it has more to do with how GOG does their buggy 'search' in the database. In his case, it was more confounding: it was the exact same game. :S
Thanks for the detailed reply GenlyAi !

Jut to clarify : it is indeed the same problem as Jeshibu.
I own the first game from the legacy of kain serie on CD : Blood Omen Legacy of Kain from 1996 that can be found on igdb
(no, Soul Reaver is not the first one ;) )

And I own Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 (2002, that you linked) on steam.

As you said, the name "Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain" used in steam is mixing up the link with the database.
The screenshot used in the page from Blood Omen (1996) is the same found in GOG Galaxy 2.0 on the page "Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain" but the media and informations are about the "Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain" (2002)

Anyway, it's a lot confusing x)
I'll report the issue as you suggested ;)
