In the recent days, the GOG team shipped a new feature for game developers called Steam SDK Wrapper. It's still in beta, but it aims to bind most of Steam API calls to a Galaxy one, which really simplifies porting a game to the platform.

Here is al list of currently supported features:
- achievements
- leaderboards
- stats
- friends

Maybe I'm the only one interested here, but I wanted to share this with you, since I'm glad to see these features, which will help developers who might not have time to spend porting all the features of their games here(like cross-play, and achievements, which a lot of games here are missing)
Fantastic news, it's about time!

This can seriously help to get more games on GOG, faster and more complete, without cuts.

pippo-san: like cross-play
Crossplay isn't included in the list in the main part of your OP though.

So will this update actually make GOG/Steam Crossplay easy to implement, or will it not actually do that?

Short answer: yes

Long answer: This API wrapper fully supports all the above mentioned features, but it also partially supports others, like joining a Steam lobby, creating a new one and requesting a list of avaliable lobbies.
Note that this doesn't mean that they don't have to work to make it usable, they still have to implement, on their own, other non supported API requests.

But still better than doing everything from scratch!
