It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Falran: In case you are still experiencing difficulties with updating GOG GALAXY please get in touch directly with our GOG GALAXY Team regarding the problem:
Top left corner cogwheel in GOG GALAXY -> Report issue

If for some reason you can't get to GOG GALAXY, please use the following form.

Please attach a zipped logs folder to your report.

To get to your logs folder use the Run command (WinKey+R key combination) and enter:
%programdata%\GOG.com\GALAXY\Logs

As a workaround, you could try to force launch the update once again by using the web installer.
I have post two tickets. No one care.
Same here. Has been happening for months. Whenever I try to manually update, Galaxy says I have the same or a newer version of the app. And then the update dialog appears again.
Exactly the same problem here as all of you, update feature within Galaxy always fails after a few seconds and the installer it instructs me to download says that a newer or same version is already installed.

The settings screen shows me on 2.0.46.133 - Beta, but Galaxy keeps popping up telling me to update to 2.0.46 which always fails!

Its been like this for years but usually the web installer eventually works, just not this time and i have lost count of how many times i have redownloaded and tried to run the installer!

Is there a way to disable the check for updates pop up if it is not going to allow us to update the program anyway?
Or finally fix the updating issue? i tried submitting a ticket two years ago about the fact the start with windows option didn't work and heard nothing since so not hopeful on this one!
Same problem here. i posted a ticket. there is away dso disable update?
Same problem here. Been like this for a LOOOOONG time and still no fixes or changes. My guess is they just don't care about their players.
Well folks I had this exact same issue, couldn't update without using the web installer (and even that was difficult) and then the client showing it was "offline"
I figured it out and it turned out to be down to DNS servers, normally I use cloudflare DNS servers (for my PC) and OpenDNS for my router.
I tested with my VPN in use and it connected fine so that determined the cause straight away.
If you set them to google's DNS servers it should resolve the issue 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Not an ideal solution but its up to GOG support to speak to DNS providers to ensure their app connects over any public DNS.

Screenshot attached shows connections from GOG client without VPN (using cloudflare to resolve) and then on the right with the VPN using another DNS provider to resolve.

Further update: I found my IPv6 DNS servers were the actual root cause, I had cloudflare addresses here as well but they had been corrupted somehow and the last section was wrong, I changed them via the network adapters properties and put the right ones in, and after a reboot GOG now connects properly.

I have google DNS servers as default so I don't think that solves the issue.

I also tried to see if it would work with using my VPN, it did not. The update autofailed at 4.1%.

Tried messing with my VPN too and unfortunately it still doesn't work.

Still keeps trying to update and fails with very launch. Manual installation doesn't seem to help either, sadly.
Been an issue for at least a year. Just kind of gave up even caring about it. Here's a screenshot. The manual update fails as well. Windows 11. Happened on Windows 10 as well.

Exact same problem here. A tad annoying.
I have this exact same problem.

Galaxy wants to update to version 2.0.47

It fails every time. The link to the website for manual update is useless as that is for the older version 2.0 which results in a pop-up saying the current version is newer and so there is no need to install.

The last time this happened (when the 2.0.46 update was released), I found a work around by manually installing the 2.0.46.133 .exe file from the following link:

https://content-system.gog.com/open_link/download?path=/open/galaxy/client/2.0.46.133/setup_galaxy_2.0.46.133.exe

However, I can't find a similar link to the file "setup_galaxy_2.0.47"

Does anyone have a link to this file?

Or does anyone know if the precise number of the version is higher than 2.0.47? i.e 2.0.47.xxx ?
Having the same issue for at least a year now too. Honestly Galaxy is just awful in general, why do we even need this horrible client? What kind of client runs an update process that it fails at every single time I want to launch it? How can something be this broken? Is development on this stopped? How can they not fix such a crucial issue for a year? I have so many questions.

it fixed after i did last update.
It recently started working well for me as well. Have no idea why as I don't recall doing anything different from the past year of failures.
Still having this problem. Gog Galaxy will not update to the latest version whether I manually search for new updates or whether Galaxy automatically finds the new update available.

I have the problem that upon launch, Galaxy hangs at 95% import of my games.

All I want to do is update to the latest version so that I can see if it resolves this problem.

I have tried disconnecting all my different accounts, wondering if it was a problem with Epic, or Steam etc. But their individual launchers are all up to date and logged in and it still hangs at 95%.

I have reported it about 10 times over the last 6 months via the 'report a bug' option but it's as if Gog are not even reading the bug reports!

Frustrating to say the least.
