I'm experiencing pretty much the same thing. Trying to install a game I just bought and I get the message that Galaxy couldn't connect to GOG's servers. And yet it could update my library... I've been getting the message that I'm offline for a couple days too, and yet I'm connected.

Honestly, I've had nothing but constant issues with Galaxy since they first brought it out back in version 1. Think it's just time to ditch this piece of crap software and only use the offline installers.

This is the worst app of gaming platforms.
More often then not it is not working. Makes me wonder if it is worth to buy Cyberpunk here, or on Steam, which is stable and absolutely without issues.
Even Epic Games app works flawlessly, which launched way after gog.
I have such big issues that i cannot even play gwent on gog, and was forced to install it on steam.
This is an embarassment to such an amazing gaming company.
I live in Romania, and these issues keep coming back all the time.

I know old post, but yeah started happening to me constantly the last month and just won't stop. Works fine until a certain time of day then boom you are offline constantly but only when downloading something. I am at the point of only downloading from the website and yes, this is one of the worst app I have used so far stability wise.

1st this is down to Gog server and not just you

things to try depend on why the network is dropping out i.e, laptops going to sleep, Microsoft updates and running search all cause time outs so its normally a case of one of these things telling galaxy to wait here and never come back at your end of the network... there is F all we can do about Gog server dropping but at least test your side isn't the problem

what to do = always assume a system reset i.e, shut down Windows 10 fully {not sleep, pause or restart} and then boot it back up again should always reset your network and that should tell Galaxy to go ahead and finish what ever task it was trying to do before it timed out... normally this should fire the Galaxy error reporter and that at least lets you know it really was busted

if you get the error reporter (send or don't) then shut Windows down once more and restart it

Happening to me constantly now; really irritating because now their game updates keep failing. Ubisoft, Origin, and Steam clients have no such issues; so this is squarely yet another example of GoG incompetence. Best advice I would give is to go through the nightmare of getting all the offline installers and then ditch this awful platform forever; that is exactly what I am going to do.

The sheer incompetence of the GoG staff is mindblowing. I am perfectly fine connected to the internet. I have the fastest connection available. Everything works fine. Yet that trash launcher Galaxy just has to throw a tantrum again.

Galaxy (1.2 here but will most likely work on 2.x) says "you're offline" no matter what you do ?

Click to open the "store" part, and it will miraculously remember how to get you online.
Most likely, when the server is overloaded, it is priorizing people who want to spend money over people who have already paid.

I've been having this very issue since a couple days now. My internet is rock solid, yet Galaxy manages to disconnect every 10-15 minutes. Please get your stuff together, GOG!

Edit: the silly thing is, I'd be perfectly fine with having a working "GOG Downloader" as that's how I am primarily using Galaxy nowadays. I don't care about multiplayer nor achievements. I just want to be able to throttle the download of offline installers and be able to resume them at a later time, things that I can't do on my browser alone -- and it sucks having to redownload a 70+ GB installer when anything goes wrong.

This keeps on happening constantly now, I know it's not me because I can connect via browser to gog.com just fine, and other people are experiencing the same issue with Galaxy

I was having this same problem: no particular error message, just "You're offline...". I saw someone mention the website worked so I tried to go there to see about installing from the website instead, but I needed to reset my password. After putting in my email address, it just sat there loading. Come to find out, my system time wasn't synced up with the rest of the world.

For whatever reason, my laptop system time was behind about two months and fixing that allowed me to connect without issue.

I faced a similar issue (I couldn't install any game due to connectivity issues). I was able to fix it by:

1. Completely close GoG Galaxy.
2. Disable IPv6 (search how to disable IPv6 in your OS online).
3. Open GoG Galaxy.

I figured this out by examining C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs\GalaxyClient.log which had the following error:

You can see that the IP address shown there is IPv6, disabling it on my machine did the trick.

Maybe this works for your problem too?

Mine just started doing this. IPV6 is already disabled on my machine so it's not this.

Old post, but I searched it because this was happening to me. FWIW, in my case it was apparently because I had a VPN on. When I disconnected the VPN it worked.

Happening to me today. Never had a problem before.
