Why is GOG GALAXY 2.0 still in beta anyway? IT'S BEEN SIX YEARS.

since > 2.0.75.xxx the client crashes continuously and is reproduceable even on a fresh OS + GOG-Galaxy install. This is a MAJOR BUG experienced by all users (at least those a bit tech-savvy who are used to explore Windows Reliability Monitor and Event Viewer, since there is no crash popup warning and it happens in background) up to current version (2.0.86.13) in August 2025 has NOT BEEN FIXED YET.

Also: If you search for updates afterwards, it searches till death. Even after restart. So you have to end both GOG tasks and start the client again. What the hell?

I don't like the new addition of a redirection to the default browser when buying something ... I am never logged to GOG with the browser ... so I just see a blank GOG page ...

... then I have to login on the browser, refresh the page and again select the payment method ... that will never be saved for future payments because I always clean up cookies on the browser ...

This will make me buy less things ... (that could also be a good thing for my wallet).

I also found out that if you use a discounted GOG code from Galaxy, when it redirect to the browser for the payment, the prices are not discounted !!

It is better to reclaim codes directly from the browser for now.

This also annoys me HIGHLY. Barrier to purchase GOG games is pretty much high now.
Although I really WANT to buy GOG games. But if they don't want, their fault.

Is possible to turn OFF screenshooter under F12? I cant use that key in games because of screenshots. I tried searching in game options but no visible any screenshooter settings.

Am I the only one who feels that they've given up on Galaxy 2.0 and are just hoping that people will forget about it?

No, the new owner stated that they intend to do an overhaul of Galaxy and also have a Linux version of it.
It's been only about three months since, so I don't expect to see a lot of changes, but they should come in the future.

Hi, guys.
Galaxy stopped working on my computer. For some reason, the user is disconnected from the internet, even on the website. When this happened, I reinstalled the program and reinstalled Windows, but Galaxy still won't start. I contacted GOG support and my ISP. GOG isn't helping, and they suggested installing it on another computer. It installed and works on my laptop, but not on this computer.
Any help?

There is a new update for Galaxy - 2.0.98 from today with some very interesting and much needed updates.

-Added DLC management to the game installation modal, so you can now whether to install all available DLCs (which remains the default) or only ones.

-Added the ability to cancel all downloads or updates with a single click.

-Improved GALAXY launch

-Improved library browsing performance.

-Improved visibility of the "Don't ask again" option in review prompts.

-Fixed an issue where the library was sometimes not refreshed after purchase, preventing instant installation.

-Fixed an issue with the "Go back to store" button on the age verification

The DLC management seems great for games where you can disable DLCs like textures packs for example so you can minimize the download size. It does not however refresh the disk space needed but still its good to have it(finally).
Also the refresh issues after purchases hopefilly will be fixed now. I have seen quite a few people reporting they don't see their games after a purchase.

There is something different about the library in grid view but I am not sure what - like it looks bigger now or there is more space between the game covers I am not sure but there is something changed here.

There is an annoying bug when switching between tabs in Galaxy - the game covers are flashing showing real fast a different(wrong) game cover and then switching to the correct one

Fortunately this update went smoothly.
