Welcome to GOG GALAXY 2.0 closed beta forum thread! If you’re here, it probably means you’re already part of the beta or are waiting for your access – please be patient as we’re sending invites on a first come first served basis. And if you’re not signed up yet, you can still do it here.
We’re starting this thread to have a place to discuss with you your ideas and feedback about GOG GALAXY 2.0 – tell us what you like or dislike about the app, what features we are missing, which platform integrations you’d like to see, and share any other feedback regarding the app. Also, drop your questions about GOG GALAXY 2.0 and we’ll try to answer them if we can :)
We’ve been testing GOG GALAXY 2.0 for some time already in our internal and alpha tests and gathered feedback, so some of the topics you want to discuss might already be addressed by us – please check the list of known issues that we’re aware of and we’re working on.

One of my PCs updated to 2.0.78.30 but the other didn't and there seems to be no update available, what's up with that?

Steam is sadly nowhere any better, community-wise. Trolls over there have free reign and the moderators at Steam will simply give trolls slaps on the wrists, whereas the victims, regardless on how much solid evidence they provide. Plus, reporting them does absolutely nothing and you're always in the wrong whereas trolls on Steam? They get no commeupance. For GOG Galaxy to become a true competitor to Steam, all that's left is for them to include GOG Workshop for GOG Galaxy, which should function the same as Steam workshop, and transfer uploaded mods from Steam to GOG.

Maybe one of your installations has preview-updates enabled but not the other?

As I install GOG via Winget it is rather anoying, that the DisplayVersion is not been set with the current version.

Without this parameter in the registry winget is not able to determine, whether a newer version exists.

All screenshots are taken in .tmp format and cannot be viewed. GOG Galaxy version is 2.0.77.22 Beta. Please fix this.

So there it seems to be an update for the galaxy client, see screenshot.

I click on Update Now an it gives me the error, see screenshot.

Then I download the installer from gog and after running it there's another error, see screenshot.

So I can't update the galaxy client/app.

(I can't understand why the installer still fetches the old 2.0.77 version, probably because the gog team forgot to upload the new 2.0.80 version on their servers and link it to their web installer stub)

Arnafein: What makes you say that? Personally I'm not seeing proper communication from the dev team that's supposedly working on this. Even this subforum is largely unmoderated with bots posting spam/scam threads.

It's absurd to me how Playnite can do so much with so little in terms of resources, and GOG Galaxy simply floats around like a piece of driftwood.
I spend a lot of time on the web-client. Navigation on the web-client has suddenly become really fast and responsive. Just my experience, which is subjective of course. The problem involving game cover art (backend-related) took them months to sort out.

I agree, moderation is basic at best.

Yes, the desktop-client lacks behind GOG's original vision, was working OK with v1.x and has been a bit of a disaster since the (forced) beta of v2.x.

Please fix the xbox integration:

Games I do not own but have played in the past through game pass are listed (with no active subscription and eventhough I did not check the show subscription box).

Games I do own but not have yet played are NOT listed!

Furthermore XBOX Console only games are also listed in my PC library...

I can't imagine this is so hard...

Currently having troubles redeeming Twitch Prime codes on 2.0.80.
It worked fine for a bunch of them. Then suddenly it got stuck clicking "Redeem" just to endlessly load.
Closed GOG Galaxy, didn't open again after. Had to terminate a background process in the Task Manager. Started Galaxy again and redeemed two more codes. Stuck again on the third.

Trying to launch cyberpunk 2077 from 2.0.80.33 beta , galaxy crashes before the game is launched. Worked perfectly before i switched to the beta version. Game launches fine if i go into the game folder and launch manually.

Am I right in understanding that while playing in the Galaxy overlay you can't see the list of achievements and what you need to complete them? How can this be done in steam or egs. Can this be seen only by exiting the game?

GOG Galaxy update crashed and "Please reinstall GOG Galaxy" - but download and reinstall is an older version?
