sxinn: I hate to see everyone else than Steam are ruining their position by awful, slow and buggy clients.
So... everyone, then, since Steam is the literal worst launcher in the industry. As in a verified health risk for some users that the company has known about for 15 months and still refuses to take steps to fix.

I've literally only once ever had an issue with steam. When an update reset the download path and I had to change it back, that's one time in 15+ years of usage. Compared to the GoG Galaxy client that seems to demonstrate a new bug every time I use it.

I've literally only once ever had an issue with Steam.

That issue is that the "new" client introduced in October of 2019 is the biggest mess of a gaming client ever conceived. To the point of literally being confirmed to be causing actual harm to customers. It's been directly confirmed to be a health risk, and at the latest, Valve has known it was confirmed to be a health risk since the beginning of November 2019, which gives them more than 15 months during which they have only made the biggest problem worse instead of better.

Just one issue doesn't negate that one issue being the single worst (and worst handled) I've seen or heard of in gaming.

You've got me interested here. My Google-fu (or Duckduckgo-fu) is not strong enough to find anything relevant; I'm seeing only health risks of using steam valves, or the usual "security" risks.

What is the story?

I kiiiinda smell, like, a tiny little bit of hyperbole here. Maybe.

• That link says "Oops. You're not authorized to access this page."
GOG Galaxy change log only goes up to 2.0.23 Hotfix (October 1, 2020) but the latest version is 2.0.35 Hotfix (December 23, 2020 according to the Cogwheel -> Changelog inside the application.
• GOG achievements don't work. I've been waiting on a reply from support since January 12th, and that's after having had to wait 5 weeks to get an initial response. I've tested The Witcher 3 GOTY and Dex. I've basically tried everything except uninstalling my graphics driver and firewall. Everything else seems to work: cloud saves are syncing, and the "Now playing" pop-up and the chat window show up in-game. The game's overlay log shows a bunch of [Error] [Mediator]Overlay client failed to connect; pipe=\\.\pipe\Galaxy-2264-Overlay-Game entries but that offers no clue as to what the cause is.
• Initially, cloud saves wouldn't sync, giving a "high server load" error. To my support request, I received an automated message after about 30 minutes saying the ticked is considered resolved, because the team worked on the reported issue days prior. It was obviously not fixed for me, since I had just reported it, so I replied to keep the ticket open. Once I finally got in touch with support 5 weeks later, I was walked through crippling my system security and functionality. Once cloud saves inexplicably started working, I put the applications and settings back the way they were, and cloud saves still continued to sync. This makes me wonder if I wasn't given a pointless runaround while a server-side issue was fixed.
• Online status - I wish it was possible to not broadcast this. Maybe also add a toggle to the account icon.
• Notifying friends of games being played - I wish you could disable this. Maybe also make it selective and global. No one should get an alert that I'm playing a singleplayer game. And you might not want people to know that you're playing Anime Tiddies 2: Electric Boobaloo.
• Search from the magnifying glass in the top left - I wish this could be restricted to specific stores only. I'm only interested in GOG.
• Games, Recent - I wish the "Recently played by others" section could be restricted to GOG only, and that it wouldn't be bigger than the "Recently played by me" section.
• Wishlist - consider adding a link directly in the sidebar. I've done that manually by bookmarking it, then renaming it from "GOG.com". I didn't even know it was possible to manage the wishlist in GOG Galaxy until I came across the link in the Store section by accident.
• Please put a link to the latest the offline installer directly on gogalaxy.com. Support did not suggest this at any point, though it likely would've saved me a lot of trouble.

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/3/2962768084999962314/

Most recent (and posted by a forum moderator) thread on the topic, includes links to several prior discussions, including one which started on the 3rd of November 2019 addressing several obvious and easily-identified triggers for migraines and epilepsy, none of which has been addressed by Valve so far, and several of which have been unable to be resolved by modders or skin creators.

The only actually safe workaround which existed was the equivalent of the workaround users have for dislike of Galaxy 2.0 on GOG - using the older client version. Not only have the files for the old Steam client been removed, forcing the additional risk inherent in third-party downloads as a potential problem, but they've made server-side changes to lock out older versions of the client from accessing their accounts.

I literally haven't been able to safely access my own Steam account since June because of the problem, and was having to use an unsupported workaround prior to that time because not doing so is directly harmful to me and blocks access to basic functionality that's required for reasonable access my account.

TentacleMayor: World of Warships doesn't track time. It successfully launches the launcher I've linked but it doesn't seem to be able to track activity. Unlike for the Battle.net launcher.
same problem here. Did you find a solution?

This project is dead. Who cares.
j'aurais aimer savoir si un jour y auras une barre de recherche dans la boutique de l'application gog galaxy ?

Seeing how basically no Galaxy dev is commenting on any of the problems with Galaxy here I wonder if the whole Galaxy 2.0 forum still makes any sense since it seems as if Galaxy development is dead ... or at least slower than a snake. This is ridiculous. I had several Steam updates (without having any problems with the client) while there has not been a single Galaxy update (which has a lot of problems and issues which I reported but weren't fixed months later).

It takes two to do so ;)
Maybe GOG should come out from wherever they are and talk with us ... you know .. their CUSTOMERS.

Actually one GOG representative has mentioned on Reddit that development is ongoing and there might be a new release in a few weeks:

https://www.reddit.com/r/gog/comments/nkkika/development_of_gog_galaxy_20/gzf52k1/?context=3

At least that's more information than we get on the website or forum. Let's hope to see results soon, this whole situation is a mess.
So now Reddit is the official GOG channel ?!
They have their forum and their store but informations abouth them must be gathered elsewhere ?!

O_o
Maybe I am blind, but I am unable to find the Changelog for GOG Galaxy. I still have to use 2.0.35 Htofix build form December 2020, and force it to not update through my firewall, because it introduced a bug in 2.0.37 build for me.

Can somebody point me to a direction, where to find the newest changelog, so I can see if the bug was already fixed or not? Even if we are still on 2.0.37 build :(
