Hi,
so there have been lots of concerns about galaxy 2 raised here in the forums in the past weeks.
Is there going to be any feedback from gog? Has there been in the past?

To me, not having heard anything about the various issues feels disconcerting to say the least, unprofessional at best.

I expect at least some PR feedback like "we have heard you lound and clear, we are working on blablabla" but until today, nada.

Currently i don't feel my game collection here is safe.

Cheers, Sepix

The only feedback I've seen in the Galaxy 2 Beta forum was in regards to "feature updates" which were to be coming soon, and a bug fix update. That was back in February on this post:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/gog_galaxy_20_closed_beta_is_now_live_lets_talk/page18

The only feedback I've recently seen in regards to the lack of GOG presence on the forums was in the General Discussion forum here:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/to_gog_staff_and_supportpayment_cannot_be_verified_issue_when_buying_games

So will there be? Who knows. I've gotten to the point where I essentially look at GOG as I do Walmart or Steam. They are stores I avoid, but I still chat with people who shop there.
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/open_letter_to_gog_and_message_to_support

I posted that discussion about 2 weeks ago. I had submitted the noted portion of the first message's contents as a support ticket before I posted it on the forums. I have added an extra detail (noted at the top of page 2 with default settings) over a week ago.

So far, there has been zero response from GOG support regarding this issue.
Can't figure out how to delete my post.

And what are you afraid of?

There is a bug in 2.0 which can cause users to lose access to games they own when using the client. It will refuse to access the game and has directed some users to re-purchase games to get access in spite of already owning the title in question. This was reported by a number of users while the still-openly-in-beta client was actually being correctly treated as beta, and wasn't fixed, and is still being reported now.

I'm just as afraid as any other rational person should be of that bug affecting me, and it's a primary reason why I've reverted to 1.2 and will refuse to re-enable updates until 2.0 is in at least a semi-competent and stable state ready for release. Which it is currently quite a way short of being.

deprecation of services, fueled by the removal of the tagging system and other features.

He will not lose his games because of that bug. In worst case he can download them offline or wait for that bug to be fixed, but this bug is not a threat to his collection ffs.
Im not defending anything, Im just saying that there is too much drama.

And I think posting problems here cleary wont help.
There will be no replies such as "we are so sorry, we gonna fix this", because there is special button in Galaxy which you can use to tell GOG about your bugs. And there is Mantis. And support page. Thats where problems can be solved and where you can contact with GOG.

i'm not afraid of losing games, i'm afraid of losing library functions i need for my hobby as a collector. when the tagging system gets deprecated as, it appears to be right now, it's not unreasonable to prepare for other services to be abandoned as well.

i don't even know what mantis is and this is not a bug report. i'm requesting feedback from the company i'm working with.

it is common sense for a company to react to online shitstorms, it is unwise to ignore them.
no drama from my part, just a request for information on how to continue.

I told you where you can contact GOG and get your feedback instead of asking people about it here.

And as I mentioned earlier, support has gone without any replies for over 2 weeks so far on a message regarding multiple issues with the 2.0 client. And this is STILL an issue with a forced beta being openly presented as a beta but not complying with user requests to opt out of beta testing. So yes, right now, bringing the concerns to a public forum as well as contacting the company directly is an entirely reasonable and appropriate response, and asking for (though maybe not expecting) public acknowledgement of the problems and the fact that it's a mistake is a reasonable request to make of the company.
