It would be a great Feature to add multiple profiles of the same launcher type.
For example for Steam it's quite common that people have alternate accounts for games like Dota 2 to have secondary accounts to try different skillbuilds or to practice or to play with different set of friends.
Same goes for people using 1 main account and 1 account with keys from bundles which they didn't want to cloud their main account but might be comfortable with joining them up now depending on Galaxy 2.0 s sorting and tagging features.
This all really depends on the other launchers, no?

Galaxy 2 is just a Launchers launcher.

You basically want Galaxy to launch another launcher with different authentication each time, depending on the game?

Seems a lot of work for not much back... :/

well Galaxy still only would have to launch one single instance of steam (all different steam profiles can use the same steam installation).
The only duplications would be two api calls instead of one to receive the games lists (and then the client could automatically set a flag which of the connected profiles to use for the game launch).
It also could be implemented by PopUp if i game is owned by more then 1 steam profile just asking which credentials to use for launch.
I sadly dont think steam api makes the family sharing option available (that's the usual way to connect several steam profiles) which would be the most convenient way i guess.

But ya to elaborate a bit more - in my case i have 1 main steam account with about 200 games.
Another one with about 100 games mostly from Bundles
and then a third one which is currently like my main dota account which like 300-400€ spent on Dota Hats :D.

So ya would be pretty great to have access to all of them at once (for now for the steam side they are just connected by the friend and family sharing option within steam)

The api call right now doesn't include authentication. THe Authentication is only for accessing your games and (soon to be added) friends list. If you log into Steam with GOG Galxy 2.0, but log out of the client on Steam itself (or login to a different account) then you will either be prompted to login (if you logged out or logged into an account that doesn't own the game you're launching) or play the game as the logged in account, NOT the account that is authenticated through Galaxy. I have tested this with EGS and Fortnite.

Thanks for the clarification. I didnt test it this way yet. Seems like this actually would make the the request a lot harder to implement as i thought originally.
