Stuck at 89% no sign of progress in over an hour.

Nordse: The latter. Irritatingly slow. I am basically walking away and coming back to see it inch up a single percent every ten minutes or so.

arcthorius: I would say it depends on how much free space you have on your disc. In my case, the patch download was fairly fast, it was only 585MB after all. It's the patch applying phase that is horrendously slow, GOG seems to back up the whole game or at least the files it touches with the patch in the temporary folder before it applies the patch. This folder was ~60GB for me. It can be problematic if you have slow disc or have just about that much space. If you have less free space it should not update, or at least someone here had only 35 GB of free space and said it won't start the update for him.
Ouch that's sad to hear. I luckily have the space but the application of it is such a dog. I'm coming up with ideas for people on what they can do while they're waiting for this "Hot Fix".

1. Attempt and achieve world peace.
2. Knit an ugly sweater.
3. Creating useless lists on forums you have no business being on.

Feel free to add any other ideas folks! Lord knows we have the time...
Update, mine has finished downloading... let's see how functional she is!
It's definitely caused by having too little free space on the SSD/HDD.
I was stuck at 92% and had 60GB of free space.

I had to: Force kill all GOG/Cyberpunk processes running in Task Manager, then free up enough space for the update (~65GB) and finally re-open Galaxy.

I have 350GB+ of free space and still going slow as hell
Here's what worked for me!

I was stuck at 92% for about an hour, after checking storage I discovered I only had 20 gigs free. -Doh!
I freed up space, ended everything GOG in task manager. started up GOG again and got stuck at 3% for about 20 mins.
Decided to restart and discovered I had a windows update pending. after restart/windows update.
the GOG update was instant.
hope this helps!
not really I had no windows update and restared my pc still the same
Okay yea after being stuck on 92 percent for a while I paused then restarted my pc and it instantly finished.
Mine kinda stopped at 61.1% for about .. 10~15 mins? then went up to 62.1% about 5 mins after that, then 65% about 10 mins later. I just left it alone and it creeped up to 100% on it's own ... over the course of about 35~45 minutes from 1% to 100% lol.

Think it helped that I had over 1TB free space on said drive.

Using the older/stable version of Galaxy though so eh, not sure if that has any baring on the success/speed or not?
Updating windows and then restarting my pc worked for me. After it restarted, I just opened Gog and in some minutes, it completed the update. Hope it helps everyone.
I left my PC on overnight and when I came back it was still at 88%...after 6-7 hours.

I restarted and its slowly inching up by 1% each few minutes or so.

This is just ridiculous. If I had known GOG was this crap I would have bought it on steam.
Was stuck at 92%. GOG Galaxy 2.0

1 Close the client (don't pause the update)
2 Open Task Manager > Processes > close anything related to client ( "GalacyCommunitacionService" for me)
3 Start client, and wait for it to finish > starting from 89% for me.

Update completed in under 5minutes after restarting the client.

EDIT: After restarting the Client / PC, game seems updated & working. 1.04

Hey all,

I did something random as hell and it helped with the stuck update, while I left the applying patch processing I cut and paste the content of temp file to another drive then i stopped pasting the files half way, then stopped the gog patching while it stuck at 92% copied half of wut i sent to the other drive back to the original folder and i hit resume patch and it in 2 min all was fixed (you could notice that when u r sending the stuff to another drive gog will start making some small downloads)
This is random probably messed some files up but the game works
Has Gog said anything about this, Im seriously thinking about getting a refund at this point 8 hrs stuck at 89% This is freaking annoying.
