It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

The original Galaxy was unlike Steam and unlike Origin and whatever else in that it respected the system look and feel by keeping the default title bar (at least on Windows). With Galaxy 2.0, it's not the case, and even as another thread pointed out, the window control buttons (minimize, maximize and close) are pushed away from the corner whereas other applications have them right on the corner.

I'd rather have the original title bar to be honest.

(Just a minor nitpick until I actually use Galaxy 2.0 more, there's so much missing that I don't know where to start.)

I like the new interface, it's slick. And while the interface is perfectible, the misalignment of the default Windows control is not among those for me. :P

Don't worry, they'll probably work on some skinning architecture, but this is like achievements: secondary to the main features.
I prefer the old galaxy. The white interface and layout along with how the games are displayed.
Who knows? Maybe they'll let you turn off the background image and set a static color regardless of which category you're in?
For my part not missing the old galaxy at all (and i used it a lot). While Galaxy 2.0 is till far from perfect and missing a few features for my it feels like a general improvment

This should actually be there in one of next updates.
Skins support is something planned as well, but probably not within next ~2 updates.

What kind of support? Will you guys have options to change the client color?

Exact scope is still being decided.

where is the option to bring in my Paradox & Beamdog games?
Fuck Steam & Xbox I want games that I have installed from stores that you actually have a contract with... what is the point of this build?

Sorry, what?
Yeah, I do miss that old "bookshelf" look and feel. I hope in the future we'll be able to switch back to it.
To be honest, i found the old client pretty ugly and compared to the other Story-Fronts from the "Visuals" gog galaxy the worst one. I mean Steam looks nowdays somewhat dated but is still more visually appealing. So if they would've gone with the classic looks, i'd never as hyped about it as now or would even use it.

/edit:
About the new Design i love it and could be possible my most Favorite Launcher-Client. I'd say Premium Launchbox could be theoretically a bit better then this client, but it's paid and to make it appealing you need to set much on your own...

/Edit2: But it would cool tho if UI customization to allow for people who prefer it the classic look to create such a theme or atleast add an classic inspired theme to choose from.

Mmm, would very much would like to see a way to customize the theme as currently it's too dark for my tastes which gives it a solitary/lonely vibe, particularly as the background continuously changes to the last selected game even if that game is no longer actively visible.

Even the ability to change the base fade color from dark to the Galaxy 1.2 style light grey would help a great deal in this regard. Hopefully this is a consideration as it would also be a nice differentiation for client UI customization, a la the Vivaldi browser's theme options which gained praise and allowed the user to tailor it to their preferred color scheme.
