Assassin's Creed, Heroes of Might and Magic series, Rayman Origins, FarCry 1 and 2, modern Prince of Persia games, and many more unforgettable Ubisoft titles 60% off

Welcome to our unbelievable [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/ubisoft_weekend_promo_011113]Ultimate Ubisoft promo. The publisher is famous for releasing original titles, full of pure gaming magic and memorable moments. This weekend you can get more than 40 Ubisoft titles 60% off. Amazing action-adventures in the ancient Middle East or dystopian future, first-person perspective shooters telling the stories of secret agents or special forces operatives stranded on dangerous islands, strategies set in fantastic lands, the distant future, or our very own mundane reality, colorful platformers, racing games, dungeon-crawling RPGs--all this and more waiting for you and tempting you with low, low prices. Let's put some titles in the spotlight, shall we?

Rayman is an iconic character and his platformer games entertained generations of gamers. As many other platformer series, his adventures also took a turn into the realm of 3D. They were quite successful at that, mind you, but there's something about the run-and-jump genre, that simply makes it work best in two dimensions. Rayman Origins takes us back to the 2D roots of platformer gaming, and reminds us why this kind of graphics and this kind of gameplay is a perfect match. Plus, it introduces a lot of fresh ideas while doing so.

Far Cry and Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition will take you on a dangerous voyage through breathtaking locations filled to the brim with dangerous foes and ruthless beasts. This elaborate FPS titles were deemed revolutionary--not only in the graphics layer, but also for their huge maps allowing for some open ended gameplay. Are you ready to face the tropical heat?

Might and Magic is one of the 1990s iconic RPG series that sprouted into a successful line of fantasy strategies loved and cherished by gamers worldwide. Now you can retrace the whole history of the Might and Magic games, beginning with the classic dungeon-crawlers bundled in the Might and Magic 6-pack, through the timeless Heroes of Might and Magic 3 - complete edition, to the beautiful modern Heroes of Might and Magic 5 Bundle. You can even check out the intriguing action-rpg spin-off: Crusaders Might and Magic. A whole fantastic universe awaits you!

All of those Ubisoft games, and many more, can be yours for 60% off this weekend. Go to the promo page to check out the details of this Ultimate Ubisoft sale. The offer ends on Tuesday, November 5 at 3:59AM GMT. Don't miss out!

Rincewind81: Still no german language for the Settlers and other Blue Byte Games, so I am still not interested.

Crosmando: You're speaking English now, aren't you?
Yes but I played this games in my native language and this games where also developed from a german developer in german. I just don't want to switch to a translated version. It is the same thing with books and movies, i like reading and watching movies in english. but I wouldn't watch an english dubbed german movie or read Thomas Mann or Heinrich Böll books in english.

Same with the Daedalic Adventures. I don't want to play a Dark Eye Game in english.

Crosmando: ... You're speaking English now, aren't you?
But since this doesn't have to mean that he prefers to speak and hear English all the time, this argument is extremely weak.

Trilarion: Interesting side detail: The weekend promo discount was 50% in the past but climbed frequently to 60% now. It just seems that undiscounted prices get more and more disconnected from any real thing.

In a way GOG could as well just close its doors monday to friday, when there isn't a 60% discount. For an online shop that can be open 24/7 without additional costs this is even more strange. But is there still somebody out there buying games without discount?

Now I wait for 70% weekend promos.
I second this statement.

I have hundreds of games on my GOG shelf, and I have paid full price for two (2!!) of them only. Which were the first two I bought here.

Not that I really mind cheap prices as a collector, but I honestly wonder how long the current trend in game sales (massive discounts, bundles, etc.) can continue.

Of course, the good point is, no matter what happens, I have DRM-free backlog for years to come...

The way I do it, a store open 24/7 means I will only buy full price if I really want to play whatever game right that instant. Why would I buy a game full price if I will be playing it next week? It's not like it will run out. So I still buy a full priced game every now and then, but mostly buy things on sale for later.

That said, when it comes to Ubi, I doubt there's anyone who'd pay 20$ for the first Assassin's creed. I might pay that for the 2nd, just to have it without that horrid Uplay, but that price for the first feels absurd. Even 60% discounted it seems barely reasonable.
Hopefully this increased interest for Ubisoft means that Albion will finally be released. I know I'm not the only one hoping for this game to finally make its appearance. Ambermoon can't tide me over forever.
sigh, you got me again GOG.. ended up picking up the other two Prince of Persia games(two thrones and Warrior Within), Heroes of MM 1 and 2 because I still enjoy playing them even if 1 is not as good as 2 and 3 and Rayman 3..and Lone Survivor and Entomorph..

I think this has been the case with PC gaming in general for a long time, not only in GOG. The default prices stay relatively high, but discounts get deeper and deeper when the game ages. Like whenever e.g. Darksiders 2 + DLCs go to discount on Steam, it is 80% off, while the base price apparently stays about the same. Spec Ops: The Line seems to get discounted always so that it costs just under 5€/$5. I bought it for that 5€ like a year ago, and now I think it was discounted to that same price on Steam just recently.

I guess they are expecting most people to rather buy a $10 game with a 60% discount for $4, than if the game was always $4 as a base price. The former gives the (wrong) impression that you are getting a higher quality game cheaply (because the base price is higher). A game whose price is always $4 must be some very poor game with no value. :)

Also, people are nowadays expecting sales. Even if the default price was e.g. $4 or $5, people would still think "I'll wait until it hits 50%+ discount promo.".

Ugh, it contains 7 games from my wishlist. I don't like it.
Nice promo but I only need the latest Prince of Persia game in that list and I already got it on disc so I'll wait for a later promo.

timppu: - Rainbox Six: missing expansion pack(s), so no thanks.
- Ghost Recon: missing expansion pack(s), so no thanks.
Exactly..

I have R6 1-3 & GR with all expansions on disc but would buy them on GOG just for the convenience.

One way to combat that is what happened to e.g. the Interplay RPGs on GOG: the base price was doubled. Then they could offer them with discounts more often. It's all psychology.
I really wish GOG had demo support. I'm somewhat interested in Far Cry and Assassin's Creed - I've never played any of them, but I heard they're quite good. Could anyone compare these games to others with a similar style? I mean, if AC feels too much like Mirror's Edge I know I probably won't like it, because parkouring is only fun for about 10 minutes (at least for me).
Been meaning to give Might and Magic a go for a while now. Don't know a huge amount about it but they look really fun.

AC feels a bit like Prince of Persia, movements-wise. And parkouring is more fun when you land on someone with a blade through his throat. So, imagine PoP's movement in a free-roaming environment, and stealth kills and swordfights.

Other related genres : Arkham City, Protoype...
So, when will we see the other Assassin's Creeds here? I quite liked the first one, after I changed my playing style from completionist (SERIOUSLY DON'T PLAY IT LIKE THAT IT'S TERRIBLE) to moving forward.
