Two Worlds, Earth 2100s series, Knights and Merchants, and other top Topware classics 60% off

[url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/jack_orlando_a_cinematic_adventure_dc]Jack Orlando is one of those adventure game characters that are a little bit obscure, but people that had the pleasure of meeting them, remember them very fondly. He's a private investigator that has seen better days, but now is down on his luck and looks for some relief in the whiskey bottle a little too often. Stains on his trademark trench coat suggest that he spent yet another night dozing off in some back alley, too drunk to get home from the bar, too broke to get a cab. But he's one of the good guys. He's actually the one to show some moral fiber in the city that consumes the poor, corrupts the innocent, and spits out the weak. Too bad he ended up in a wrong place at the wrong time and got accused of murder. With only 48 hours to clean his name, Jack has to solve his toughest case yet. Come on, help the guy out. It'll cost you only $2.39 to get the Director's Cut version of his story in our Topware Classics promo.

Or would you rather take a plunge into a fantastic realm quite different than our reality? The magical land you'll be visiting in Two Worlds: Epic edition should easily satisfy all your escapism needs with its vast and lush gameworld, visuals that remain quite impressive even today, and a well-told story that often lets you digress from its main thread. The Epic Edition we offer you, comes bundled with the game's both expansions: Tainted Blood and Curse of Souls. Yours for only $3.59!

Fantasy not really your thing? Well, how about some hard science fiction, then? Earth 2140 Trillogy, Earth 2150 Trillogy, Earth 2160--or the Earth 21-something series, as we like to call it--offer top-notch RTS gameplay in a gritty futuristic setting, at $2.39 each! But, of course, that's not all of the excellent titles you can find 60% off in our Topware Classics Promo this weekend, so head out to the promo page and pick your favorites. The offer lasts until Tuesday, April 2, at 4:59AM GMT.

As usual, below you'll find a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on Youtube, so you won't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

Doh, was just reading thru this whole thread to see if there was additional info on some of these games. Thanks guys for some of the comments you've made. It helps with deciding between certain games.
I refuse to believe that I'm the only one who thinks that's Gollum. :P

Vestin: Damn ninjad by two hours... I'm surprised anyone here has even heard of this game but it does fit the description perfectly...
Here's a Youtube video to justify my content-low "me too".

gandalf.nho: I have a old magazine somewhere here with the full version of this one
Hope they include the soundtrack. :)

I bought Enclave some months ago, without knowing a lot about it, but it was really a good surprise. So I recommend Enclave and now I'm deciding whether to buy Two Worlds...

Two Worlds is pretty fun game, if you don't mind..... bad voice acting, silly animation, and unintentional humor.

I really like it a lot because it let me go anywhere I want to and I can just hack and slash through the baddies. I think 3.99 is excellent value for this game and I paid 9.99 and I don't regret it.

Some of the quests are actually interesting and there's a lot of places to explore.

Sure, it may not be up to Morrowind/Oblivion standards but I still enjoy it a lot more because it doesn't feel..... quite stuffy like those games.

A warning: a horse control isn't really that good so I just walk everywhere but it enable me to find hidden areas that I may have overlooked if I rode the horse.

Just don't look for super deep quality game in Two Worlds, lololololol.

That say..... Two Worlds is one of my personal favorite games of all time. :)
Well, when deciding if I really need anything from this promo(already own Gorky 17 and pretty pleased with it), I've done what I seem to be doing more and more lately; watching LPs. As my backlog has consistently grown since I joined GOG, I find myself scrutinizing more and more titles lately. Initially my interest in this promo was aimed primarily at the Earth 2100 series. And somewhat at Knights and Merchants. So, I watched a couple of LPs and now realize I can probably live without them. Part of the reason for this is the fact that I already have games that I've invested myself in and that do essentially the same things as the titles I was interested in. However, the ones I already own probably do it better.

The Earth 2100 series for example. Yes, the trilogy made me somewhat fat in the pants and I figured I'd give 2150 a go to at least see how I liked it. Well, I watched an LP and decided that I have already have TA:CP here on GOG and I like it well enough to not bother with 2150 atm. Same for Knights and Merchants. 5 minutes into the LP and my eyes were glazing over like two donuts fresh out of Lard Lad's friers. I already own LotR and Stronghold here on GOG. I know not everyone is inclined to think this way, but this comes down to a couple of things for me. One of those is primarily time. How much I can invest myself in a game and the payoff in enjoyment. I'm sure if I sat down with either of these titles I would probably garner some enjoyment out of them, but I already enjoy the others that I own and I have already invested time in them.

So, after I ruled adding these two titles out of my potential weekend prospects. I looked at another game I thought I might find interesting, Enclave. I watched a bit of an LP and realized that I already own Blade of Darkness here and would probably not get the same sense of satisfaction that I get slicing someone to bits as I do in BoD...

Well, I played Morrowind and Oblivion... I don't like their standards, since my favourite openworld-action-rpg games are from Piranha Bytes (Gothic 1, 2, 3 and Risen), so I'm happy to hear that Two Worlds isn't stuffy like those Bethesda games. ;)
I'm curious about the unintentional humor, thanks for your suggestion. :)

No problems. :) It's about having fun times, really. That's why I put in insane amount of time into it because it's so relaxing and enjoyable for me. It's so satisfied just to run around and offed baddies for their loots and getting better gears. I really enjoy dungeons in it as well. But one thing I like the most about it is how you can explore the towns and chatting with everyone.

I truly hope that you will enjoy it if you ever decide on getting it.

I am going to say something blasphemous here, but I greatly preferred "Enclave" to "Blade of Darkness", primarily due to the controls and mechanics.

Refuse it all you want, it could still be true.

As for the promo, I have KKND which leaves the Earth series a little behind in my personal opinion.

I only played them to test them on my machine, but for me Enclave was far more enjoyable for the hour or so I spent testing then Two Worlds was. I just kept dying in TW.
Interesting promo. I must say that I had already bought the games I was interested beforehand: Septerra, Two World and Enclave.

On the other hand this means I can happily buy my two Blitzkrieg games.

Very happy. Very happy indeed. Thanks GOG.
I hope we get Two Worlds 2 here as the DRM on it is terrible

I´m waiting for this game too :) I hope we´d get Velvet Digital Edition.
Already have two worlds, i don't need the others. Nice promos though, keep it upup
Well, for me it is the first time that I play Two Worlds :D
Somehow missed or ignored it, still think that the old Gothic series is the best =)
