Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Serious Sam, Ghost Recon, Far Cry 1, 2, and more 60% off!

Do you like shooting things? Most gamers do, which makes the mainstream media overly excited and judgemental far too often. But let's not go there. We know that gaming shootouts are kept well-within the boundaries of virtual worlds and are all about fun, challenge, and feeling bad-ass while you relax in front of your computer screen. So, putting aside all controversy around first-person perspective shooters, let's jump right into action with 21 games that go "pew pew pew", "ra-tatatah", and "boom" for your entertainment. This weekend, you can get them with an explosive 60% off discount in our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/fps_legends_weekend_promo_221113]Spectacular FPS Shootout promo! Let's take a look on some of the titles, shall we?

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - War Chest takes you to the fronts of World War II and let's you take part in some of the allied forces most crucial operations. The game became famous for creating a believable and suggestive image of battle conditions with a real infantry soldier in the role of the game's hero. The War Chest edition includes the original campaign that will take you from German bases in Algiers, through the D-Day landing in Normandy, to the occupied France, and both Spearhead and Breakthrough expansions. Enlist now, for only $3.99!

Too much realism for your taste? You prefer fast-paced action with hordes of enemies coming for your bad-ass protagonist and absurdly overpowered weapons at his disposal to cut the baddies to little pieces? No problem! We've got you covered with Serious Sam: The First Encounter and Second Encounter, games that became famous exactly for the type of old-school gameplay you're looking for. Well, that and excellent epic level design. Only $ 2.39 each!

Far Cry is the game that changed the way people perceive video games, thanks to the astonishing CryENGINE. In terms of lifelike graphics, physics, advanced enemy AI, and sandbox style FPS-ing, there is "before Far Cry" and "after Far Cry". Far Cry 2 took the game realism to another level--fully destructible environment, wind, rain, day, and night that affect enemy AI, and a beautiful African setting. The game features a spectacular story presented in a huge single player campaign which takes form 40 to 70 hours to beat. Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition contains the full Far Cry 2 game, including all previously released patches and the Far Cry 2 Fortunes DLC with additional content like new weapons and vehicles. Pick both games for only $3.99 each.

That's just a small taste of all the hardcore FPS action you can get in our Spectacular FPS Shootout promo until Tuesday, November 26, at 4:59AM GMT. Don't miss out!

Serious Sam is one of the best FPS games ever but it's really fecking hard. It does have a tourist difficulty mode however. You can also swap blood and gore for fruit.
Serious Sam the second encounter's lowest difficulty setting is just about the easiest you'll get in an FPS. Even complete novices will find it a walk in the park. You still get the satisfaction of blasting your way through hoards of enemies but with the bonus of barely getting a scratch.

Also, all weapons will be available from early on so it's a real blast watching a solitary charging headless fool being decimated with a cannon ball!

edit: changed demolished to decimated which is a more accurate description!

I never tried it at the lowest setting but I'll take your word for it. I played it on normal and wow did it get hard. There's only a small handful of FPS games I would say were harder on normal. The difference being Sam managed to stay fun while being hard.

kalirion: Dude - the whole point of the "gothic" style is to be pretentious!
I can understand intentional pretentiousness and satire in some cases, and while I see your point - it didn't really catch me like the Painkiller developers might have intended.

I'm going to try out some more Painkiller this weekend, maybe my first impressions were misleading.

Now it is true that Painkiller is very much of the "Serious Sam" style FPS with "stuck in an area until you kill all the monster waves and then the next area opens up" approach. But it is really good at that.
My wallet is hurting after the Insomnia sales, so I am really glad this weekend's deal is a genre I'm not interested in! Gives me a break. :D Seems like a nice mix for fans of FPS, though!
Holy Hand Grenades! Are there really over 1200 maps for UT 2004?
Of course I didn't intend to buy anything but then I remembered that Halloween shortly after UT 2004 came out and we all got drunk and started playing multiplayer...I remember being very sick but doing very well. I just had to buy that one again for the memories (or lack of).
Just as I guessed.......this System Shock 2 thing is the top seller from this sale. Only promo item I see in the home page's Bestseller section.

I think that may be due to the Insomnia Sale last week.
People really need to play Fary Cry 2 (and 3). Some of the best and most immersive FPS games ever. Yes, even better than some of the FPS games people overrated on this site due nostalgia .

I beaten it and despite its problems I was still hooked in that game, I especially like the realism elements like the Weapons jamming, but each weapon has a different level a reliability like the AK will last longer other Assualt Rifles, and I never hade a problem with the Malaria because I always do the missions to get more medicine. And I don't know why but the Graphics in Far Cry 2 looks better than Far Cry 3 for some reason, for one I think the grass and foliage looked alot better in 2 and there was long grass everywhere.

Also stay away from Far Cry 1, get Crysis 1 instead.

SpiderFighter: Yep! They're both still fairly active.

deathmyrk: Well that's awesome. I am pretty much broke from the Big Promo Sale. Gotta decide between UT and UT04. Tough decision... Any suggestions?
I'm more partial to UT than 2004, but I believe I'm in the minority. Also, when I checked the servers today, there were more 2004 games than UT.

Which one did you decide to go with? Sorry I didn't see this until now.

I enjoyed the vehicles in 2004, but I agree that UT was an overall better game.

Mccy_McFlinn: I would highly recommend finding a copy of Rainbow Six: Raven Shield and its expansion (expansions if you track down a copy of Iron Wrath) as it's still brilliant. It will be sub £3 comes the Steam Christmas sale.

Hidden and Dangerous 2 is absolutely worth tracking down if you're able to find a copy - can't wait for this to arrive on GoG.

SWAT 3 and SWAT 4 are both fantastic tactical shooters - SWAT 3 unfortunately isn't in this sale but worth $9.99 if you're so inclined to lay down full price for it.

I can't think of any recently released tactical shooters that have captured my imagination as well as those listed above (the GRAW games weren't tactical enough for my liking) but all four that I have mentioned are eminently playable by today's standards.
Thanks. I'll have a look, when I get the chance.
isn't shadow warrior classic free on steam? what's the difference?
