htown1980: So divine divinity. For a buck fifty.

I assume its worth such a pittance, more importantly, however, is it worth my time?

The only action rpg I have played is torchlight and I enjoyed it a bit.

Azilut: I played it for the first time earlier this year, expecting a second-rate Diablo clone, but was very pleasantly surprised. It stands on its own as an open=world exploration game with a huge world, lots to do, great music, and a quirky sense of humour. If you're just looking for some grindy loot-farming, there are other games that do that specific aspect better, but IMO DD stands above most of them as just being one of those "special" games that rises above the sum of its parts.

Unrelated question: Anyone want to sell me on the Twinsen games? I never played them as a kid so there's no nostalgia in them for me. I'm a fan of adventure games generally, but not so much of kiddy/cutesy ones, and the screenshots give the impression that the Twinsen games might fall under that category.
Thank you very much. I am sold!!

Also curious about the Twinsen games for same reasons...
Not that it makes a difference at $2 but if I like the later Populous games will I enjoy the early ones or will it be an obvious step back?

If by "later games" you mean The Beginning, it's a completely different game, I'd even say a different genre. Populous 1 and 2 are basically the same thing (Populous 1 is Populous 2 with just 3 or 4 powers).

tinyE: Thanks everyone.
Think I'll pass this time but thank you. :D
I think the developers of the game made the requirements a bit higher than what the game will actually run on. I've read on different sites that you do not actually need a graphics card with 512 MB. For instance: http://www.grimrock.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=786

I think you might have put a slightly too high system requirement in place. My system is just bellow what should be able to handle the game (have a GeForce 8600 GTS, but only 256mb VRAM, and a single core Intel Pentium 4 3ghz processor), and I'm able to run the game on the highest setting, for everything but shadows, at a solid 45+ FPS.

JudasIscariot: We don't do Xbox though :P

McDon: Make a GOGbox then! :P
Wouldn't that make the universe implode?

I am pretty sure if I recall correctly that GOG actually did make a GOG box at one time and there was a web page on the site about it. Judas may remember this too if not someone else. It was a long time ago and was done as a joke of some sort for a promo.

I felt Diablo games were kind of Meh... But then Divine Divinity came along, properly combining the hack'n'slash formula with a very good and complex questing system, making it one of the most fantastic games ever created!
Waking Mars or Lord of the Realm...?
