Vindici: Could someone elaborate on that? My spider sense is tingling.
Well it's simple really. Because of a lawsuit and settlement :/. After 1.1.2014 Bethesda will own the rights to Fallout 1&2 and Tactics too. And have you seen any Bethesda titles around here?

" Interplay, meanwhile, can continue to peddle its own post-apocalyptic wares in the form of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics – but only until December 2013. "

So tempted to make a time traveler joke, but those went out of fashion in 2020.

Lmao :)

nijuu: Nice promo!!!. Now to see what games i wanna get (Fallouts aside) mmmmmm. Maybe Die by the Sword and Freespace 1 (have 2nd game on disk as well as on GOG awesome game...)
DBTS can be a real pain in the ass. I don't regret having it mind you but the game was basically an attempt to revolutionize sword fighting in games and while the effort was noble, it wasn't really that successful.

Well played, Sir.
Ah, the dirty underworld of the games industry. Thanks for the warning, blotunga.
Sorry to keep posting in here, just one two more stupid questions: how is the save game feature for the two MDK titles and it Messiah worth a few bucks for the concept or is it really the huge pain I keep hearing about?

The first game originally only allowed saving after completing a level but the patch added the ability to save and load at any time (I think the stuff is bound to F2 and F3, I'm fairly certain the patch has already been applied to the GOG release). IIRC MDK2 has a checkpoint system.

Hard to tell. I remember enjoying the hell out of it when it was fairly new. It's basically a stealth game, a bit like Hitman since taking control of people is like switching disguises. I don't get where all the frustration seems to keep coming from aside from a few minor flaws, IMHO. The only thing that bothers me in the GOG release for now is that the game is unplayable on some systems (keeps crashing in many spots) unless you apply the 3dfx patch (which for some reason is missing from the GOG release) but applying that one kills the ambient audio which was originally streamed from the CD. I guess you may want to wait with the purchase until GOG gets that fixed.

Thanks so much. As much as I loved Hitman I found those games incredibly nerve racking and frustrating, so even without any bugs I'm gonna give a pass on anything stealth for now. As for MDK, it's about time I got those stupid things; they've been begging me for purchase long before I ever joined GOG. :D Also pick up battle chess; if I can't beat anyone at chess I can at least enjoy watching me getting my ass kicked.

That's the spirit! More games should make failure rewarding.
Subwars it is then. I can finally pilot my own weaponized sandwich!
What are the chances of Fallout/MDK/Earthworm Jim/Kingpin getting a bigger discount in the winter sale?
So glad now I bought the lot for $35 last year from the pay what you want promo.
$125 for the entire pack at 50% discount. No way.

I'd recommend Shogo MAD. The A.I is terrible but it's fun. Only $2.99 as well
If you want the Fallout games here before they vanish, this is as good a time as any to get them. If they are on sale again for the winter sale they will probably be the same price as this still.

The lowest price they had was $2.99, but they were selling for $6 back then. Now they cost $10 by default :(. Should've bought them back then. But normally in time the prices of games go down not up :((
