Night of the Rabbit, Deponia, Edna & Harvey and more imaginative adventure games up to 60% off!

The golden age of adventure gaming is not over. Sure there are timeless classics that make your brain melt and mouth water, but you don't have to look to the past to experience captivating storytelling. Meet Daedalic, the makers of enthralling new worlds ripe with magnificent puzzles and pulsating life. Let us take you on a journey with [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/daedalic_weekend_promo_060913]Adventures from Daedalic! This weekend, all of Daedalic's games in the GOG.com's catalog are up to 60%! Let's have a look at some of these exceptional adventures:

Let's start with Daedalic's latest addition to our catalog,The Night of the Rabbit. This point-and-click title of mystery and magic takes you on a daunting trip through the beautiful realm of Mousewood. What starts as a fairytale joyride full of humor and adorable creatures builds up to a thought-provoking finale of joy and fear, laughter and tears. While making your inner child smile, the game will make you reflect on the important things in life. Let the mysterious Marquis de Hoto lead you towards a late summer night's dream.

Deponia introduces you to a unique universe in the tradition of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, and Matt Groening. With its off-beat characters and wacky sense of humor, the game takes you on a hilarious rollercoaster ride through numerous locations across a peculiar planet covered in a thick layer of trash. On your journey you will have to solve many puzzles, experience outlandish romance, slapstick jokes, and many surprising plot-twists. The eccentric world of Deponia is brought to life with detailed hand-painted backgrounds and top-notch cartoon animation complete with colorful voice-acting and funny dialogue.

Or do you prefer to go completely bonkers? Edna & Harvey, a crazy award-winning adventure spanning over two games: The Breakout and Harvey’s New Eyes. The cast of characters ranges from mildly deranged to the certifiably insane, and let's not forget about the little blue stuffed bunny! The minimalistic art-style fits the over-the-top exploits of the disturbed protagonists perfectly. If you are up for some psychedelic fun, join Edna & Harvey on their rough ride towards destiny.

That's only a few picks from this weekend's selection. Go to the Promo Page to see what other alluring adventures you can embark on, with a 60% discount. The Adventures from Daedalic promo lasts until Tuesday, September 10, at 3:59AM GMT. Don't miss out!
Already have all this games. Waiting for Memoria impatiently...
Thanks for the deal, finally grabbed A New Beginning - Final Cut. I was initially put off by its somewhat oxymoronic title, but being as I work in global conservation, the game itself appeals very much. So thanks for prodding me to get it at last at this sweet price!
How patched is New Beginning, heard it had a lot of bugs?

I played it a few months ago and I encountered a nasty bug that made saving the game impossible half way through the game. But I could still use quick saves to go around the problem.

Thanks for the heads up, yeah saving was an issue I recall, think I'll pass on this one, cheers :)

I've played through it recently, too, although to tell the truth, I had downloaded the installer much earlier this year, so I can't say if they fixed anything in the meantime. The saving issue is indeed annoying, but just to be clear, I've encountered no game-stopping bugs and you can still leave the game whenever you want to and continue at the same spot where you stopped later on, even in the last two chapters. You just can't use more than one savegame anymore during those, as manual saving doesn't work anymore, so you have to rely on the autosave function which still works (game is automatically saved when you leave it, if you restart it and press "continue" instead of "load" that autosave file is loaded).

I enjoyed the graphics and the (generally rather easy) puzzles, and also some of the dialogues and story-telling ideas, and the German voiceovers are cool, too, for the most part, although I hear the English version falls flat in that regard. The story is a bit weird, preachy but not very convincing.

EDIT: I compared the version number of the installer I used with the one offered in my account and it's the same, so sadly it appears that this issue hasn't been fixed.

Alright, where's This Week on GOG?

I'm holding a katana, you really want another neck wound, TeT?

They said TWOG was returning in September, but not a specific date in September. So it could be 3 weeks from now.

Alright, who else wants to bear some bad news?
Just bought Deponia 1 and 2.
Now reading old messages for tips about dealing with huge backlogs.

Tip 1. - Play Deponia. It's awesome.

It really is. I still need to play part two (because part three will be released in November, IIRC).

I would have bought some of the other Daedalic adventures, but NotR, TWW und Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav are not available in German on GOG. (Thankfully TWW was on sale in Be Mine 9 bundle last week.)

Thanks for the info, the game looks intriguing, may give it a shot after I read some reviews, thanks again :)

I started it and finished the first part (get the 4 things in the baggage list), I have one question: In the old days, adventure games were very sadistic, not getting an item or performing an action at the beginning of the game could make the game impossible to continue hours of gameplay later. Eventually games become more sane, I'd like to know what category Deponia belongs to as it might influence my saving strategy.

Don't worry, there's no "dead end" in Deponia and most puzzles aren't very hard too.
