Here's your weekly Message From GOG!

Our mission to gather the most extensive classic games catalog available online continues. Well, you could say it's complete--GOG.com offers the biggest selection of classics already. There's always room for improvement, though, and new milestones to reach. This week, we celebrate making one of them: Wing Commander Series is now complete! We consider it a big win. Here's another: we've reached Friday. And since it's Friday, here's a new episode of This Week on GOG, a short video guide to recent events, promos, and other happenings on the site. By the way, if you haven't already, you might want to follow the GOG.com channel on YouTube, so you don't miss our shows, specials, and exclusive trailers.

This Week on GOG episode 42

That's it from us today, but let's stay in touch over the weekend on our social media channels. Also, remember check out our Spectacular FPS Shootout weekend promo with 21 explosive first-person shooters available 60% off. Have a nice weekend! :-)

Now that we're completing series, we should get back to harassing Ubisoft for expansions as well as the sequels for games series like Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, and Ghost Recon, Would love to see Rainbow Six Rogue Spear make it back into the limelight alongside it's expansion brethren. Would be nice to own Chaos Theory here too :)

zeffyr: Black & White next week?
I've heard it rumored that IP is back with Lionhead at Microsoft.

Nevertheless, if it isn't, bringing a working copy of that game would be an enormous boost to GOG. However, I wonder if, similar to Dungeon Keeper 2, It might be really tough to get working on modern machines. The PC requirements mention "Direct3D(TM) support (PCI/AGP)" which makes me suspect there was no Glide support so nGlide couldn't be used, but then the Mac system requirements mention OpenGL.

It'd take somebody smarter than me to clear this up. :P

Hmm Dream Chronicles maybe?
Could also be the Dark Seed games? I can't think of any games where both parts of the hint fit.

I can imagine Night Dive bringing those, since they brought IHNMAIMS.
That would be fantastic, no doubt about it. It's one of those severely underappreciated games which slipped under everyone's radar back in the day.

tfishell: I was initially thinking of Weird Dreams - http://homeoftheunderdogs.net/game.php?id=1734; maybe GOG or Night Dive cleared up the legal situation.
You might be right about this, we were supposed to get two 80s' Rainbird Software games by the end of the year:

Huh, interesting! Forgot about that.
I was sitting here wondering 'does Enigmatic T do these video voice overs in one take'? (Like it sounds). And then I heard the outtakes during the credits at the end. :D
Wing Commander completed. Well done!
Well i am stumped on next weeks release.

zeffyr: Black & White next week?
Black & white one is where the series belongs, but it was a really shocking horror that they roughly took a carving knife to it after realizing it was ahead of it's time so they could monetize on 'an expansion'.
A shame and if Gog offers it they should offer it with it's exansion at the same time otherwise history will probably repeat itself.
As in people will buy the first one pan it out for being half a game and broken because of it and then it'll get kicked to the side in our gaming collections.

Don't get me wrong black and white 2 was okay, but i always felt less engaged with the creature and it felt like they really dumbed it down. I can't even remember if you could get it eating it's poo and throwing up everywhere with BW2.
