I'm right in everything I've said. This practice of releasing a game multiple times and bundling it over and over again was NOT as common in the beginning of gaming, it hardly happened at all. So far we have Test Drive 2 in '89 .... is that it ?

I love this game so much I even play it on my phone along with number two and the Monkey Islands.

Planescape: Torment 5 times (retail, download, and 3 gift codes if you want to count them)

Baldur's Gate 2 seven (yes, seven!) times - original release, second copy since I gave the first one away, rebuy when it came out on dvd, rebuy when bundled with 'Throne of Bhaal', BG1+BG2 retail boxed, GOG copy + one gift code given away.

Witcher 1 three times, but almost four - original retail, EE retail, GOG download, and then was offered another GOG code at one point to do with the release of Witcher 2 but I never redeemed it.

If you include multiple copies of *practically* the same game, then I have Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, Persona 3 Portable retail and Persona 3 Portable PSN version..... and if EU ever gets the PSN version of P3FES then I'll get that too :)

Gonna have to think on this one...

Respecting Shaolin_sKunk's wishes, I'm dropping the subject. I'll just ask you to check the top music sellers in the 50s (they were singles), then the 80s (they were albums), then 2000s (singles again). Different distribution media meant piece was better than album, then cassetes (and cds) meant albums were produced instead of singles, then mp3 sales meant singles were more profitable than albums again.

Oh, and before I forget, check Magic Bus, which was later re-released as an expansion. Ok, not true. It was the same song with a few more songs added, plus some exclusives. So more like a "Complete Edition" that you had to rebuy if you wanted the full experience.

I still own CDs of my favorite games. But I like to have digital versions of them just in case. Many of the games in that D&D bundle I already have in a box somewhere. But now I have them right here for easy access.

The first Baldur's Gate. First I bought the 5 cd version twice, then I bought it again as part of the Baldur's Gate Collection that was on physical disc and then I bought it as part of GOG.com's D&D Dynamo Promo. (I only wanted Neverwinter Nights 2 from the Promo but it cost 8 Euros, so I thought "Why not pay 8 Euros more to get the rest, right?")

I've never purchased the same game more than once. Hell, most of the games I own are gifts from other people. And now that there are so many indie games out for free and at very low cost, anyway, there's no reason the AAA games industry should be raping my wallet. Of course, it helps that I'm not too big on the gritty hyper-realistic style that's so big these days.
