GOG.com 5th birthday celebration continues, and today we've got something super lined up for you. A special bundle release of exceptional indie games hit GOG.com shelves and--guess what--they're on promo! You can get each of them 60-80% off, with each title you add to your cart adding 5% to the final discount. That means all the releases in the Super 5 Promo can be yours for as little as $5 total! (Well, $4.95, to be exact.) The special offer lasts for the first week, that is until Tuesday, October 1, at 9:59AM GMT. After that, the games will be priced at--you guessed it--$5 each. Enough talk, let's get down to business and get a closer look at the Super 5 Promo releases!

The Adventures of Shuggy trailer video

In the puzzle-platformer genre The Adventures of Shuggy stands out with the multitude of cleverly designed stages and diverse mechanics involving gravity shifting and time manipulations. Don't let the cute artwork fool you, and get ready for some challenging platforming and brain-twisting!

VVVVVV trailer video

Talking 'bout challenging platforming, Terry Cavanagh's VVVVVV is difficult enough to be considered a "punishment game", but it's also so addicting, that you'll have trouble putting it down. Brilliant gravity-shifting gameplay, excellent level design, and originally presented story more than just makes up for the game's simplistic graphics. Take it for a spin! (Windows + Mac!)

Gateways trailer video

Bending the space-time continuum on the micro-scale is the theme of Gateways, a retrotastic puzzle-platformer from the devs of The Adventures of Shuggy. Master the gateway guns to travel across a room instantly, change size, walk on walls and even travel in time. (Windows + Mac!)

Escape Goat trailer video

Escape Goat is a puzzle platforming game where you take on the role of a goat who was imprisoned for witchcraft. Take heart, for a friendly magic mouse accompanies you, and he can help in the most unexpected ways. Together you must solve 50 rooms of the treacherous Prison of Agnus in order to escape. Level editor included! (Windows + Mac!)

Time, Gentlemen Please! + Ben There, Dan That!

Ben There, Dan That! and its sequel Time Gentlemen, Please! are a couple of rip-roaring point-and-click adventure games. With tongue firmly in cheek, sit back, relax, and put your mind to work solving puzzles, and reading some very funny dialogue. It's like a book, only good!

There you have it, 5 excellent new indie additions to GOG.com catalog, for a little under $5 if you get them all until Tuesday, October 1, at 9:59AM GMT. That's our Super 5 Promo, a part of GOG.com 5th birthday celebration!

I'll be sure to invest in this promo before the week is out. They're 80% off, I don't mind these types of games, haven't ever heard of any of them, and just simply...why not?

Leroux: Out of curiosity, has Gateways been featured in a bundle, too? If so, which one?
Not that I am aware of, no.

As far as I know, it wasn't featured in a bundle before. Indie Gamer Chick wanted to include it in her Indie Royale bundle, but it "was not available because the developer already had plans to be in an upcoming bundle". Yet it wasn't bundled yet. We might say that GOG is the first place to feature the game in a bundle! :)

Ghorpm: I have one question though about platformers: can you play them for 5 minutes, make some progress, leave and then later come back without losing anything? It would be great, because I love to I play them like that - as a brief interlude in my work.
I can only answer for VVVVVV: If I remember right (I haven't played it since it was released), each new level is saved (either autosave or checkpoint) so that you don't have to keep replaying more than one level at a time.
Mostly platformers, eh? I guess I'll give 'em a shot.

That's all I needed to know, even if it's only for one of those games.
Thanks to Ghorpm for posing the question and thanks to SpiderFighter for answering. :D
I already own most of these games on Steam or DRM free through bundles, so I'm going to pass on them today, sorry. But this is a pretty nice deal if you don't already own these.
Great price point on this GOG, makes it a very easy impulse buy. I only have one of these title already and no interest in a second one of them, so the total price for three is even nicer. A bit burnt out on puzzle platformers at the moment (my Android tablet is rife with them), but at this price they can happily inhabit my shelf until I return to the genre. Thanks!
For those who like VVVVVV, there is this new flash game from the same creator:

I've played it yesterday and it really blew my mind.
Cool

Started playing and it instantly reminded me of one of my favorite Sega Genny games: Landstalker ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLU4HhMkqLU ). I wonder if he's a fan?

Anytime, my friend! It's a tough, but great, game. Hope you dig it.

Thanks a lot! Just as tinyE said (at least) one should be enough.
VVVVVV! I already have it on 3DS, but I bought the "big screen" version anyway.

PaterAlf: To be fair, I don't think it has to do anything with Steam this time. All the games from the bundle were available DRM-free for nearly no money before. VVVVV was in a Humble Bundle, Escape Goat and Shuggy were on Indiegamestand and Ben There, Dan That /Time Gentlemen, Please! were on Groupees just a few weeks ago.
I guess that explains why I am faintly familiar only with VVVVV... Besides Humble Bundles, I personally never check any of those other Royal Jubilee Groupee Gamestand bundles ever. And it seems I have missed the HIB where VVVVVVV was included.

And it was definitely a good idea that GOG brought a bunch of them at the same time, and in a promo right away.

Smannesman: And using that annoying buy more get more discount system is certainly not super.
Come on, that's crazy talk! The stacking promos on GOG are great, especially as they take into account earlier games you've bought already from GOG (irrelevant in this case though, as this was the first appearance on GOG for any of the promo games...).

In GOG I never have to ponder "Hmm, does this bundle make sense to me, considering I already have half of the games on this very same service, so now I am buying them all all over again...". I think that's the reason many bundles on other sites constantly have repeats, luring people to pay several times for the same games.
