A special bundle release of exceptional indie games hit GOG.com shelves and--guess what--they're on promo! You can get each of them 60-80% off, with each title you add to your cart adding 5% to the final discount. That means all the releases in the Super 5 Promo can be yours for as little as $5 total! (Well, $4.95, to be exact.) The special offer lasts for the first week, that is until Tuesday, October 1, at 9:59AM GMT. After that, the games will be priced at--you guessed it--$5 each. Enough talk, let's get down to business and get a closer look at the Super 5 Promo releases!

The Adventures of Shuggy trailer video

In the puzzle-platformer genre The Adventures of Shuggy stands out with the multitude of cleverly designed stages and diverse mechanics involving gravity shifting and time manipulations. Don't let the cute artwork fool you, and get ready for some challenging platforming and brain-twisting!

VVVVVV trailer video

Talking 'bout challenging platforming, Terry Cavanagh's VVVVVV is difficult enough to be considered a "punishment game", but it's also so addicting, that you'll have trouble putting it down. Brilliant gravity-shifting gameplay, excellent level design, and originally presented story more than just makes up for the game's simplistic graphics. Take it for a spin! (Windows + Mac!)

Gateways trailer video

Bending the space-time continuum on the micro-scale is the theme of Gateways, a retrotastic puzzle-platformer from the devs of The Adventures of Shuggy. Master the gateway guns to travel across a room instantly, change size, walk on walls and even travel in time. (Windows + Mac!)

Escape Goat trailer video

Escape Goat is a puzzle platforming game where you take on the role of a goat who was imprisoned for witchcraft. Take heart, for a friendly magic mouse accompanies you, and he can help in the most unexpected ways. Together you must solve 50 rooms of the treacherous Prison of Agnus in order to escape. Level editor included! (Windows + Mac!)

Time, Gentlemen Please! + Ben There, Dan That!

Ben There, Dan That! and its sequel Time Gentlemen, Please! are a couple of rip-roaring point-and-click adventure games. With tongue firmly in cheek, sit back, relax, and put your mind to work solving puzzles, and reading some very funny dialogue. It's like a book, only good!

There you have it, 5 excellent new indie additions to GOG.com catalog, for a little under $5 if you get them all until Tuesday, October 1, at 9:59AM GMT. That's our Super 5 Promo, a part of GOG.com 5th birthday celebration!

Let's not forget people that if you're willing to pay $20 to go to a 2 hour movie at a theater.

At least three of these look fun, making the deal worth getting. Yeah so what if they are at $1 per afterwards, I'd probably buy a dozen more games at $1 if they look halfway fun.
I don't have any of these games... not really sure I want any. I am not a huge fan of super difficult platformers for one thing (VVVVVVV)
So, without the discount, do that games have an individual price of $5? That's a new price point, right?

Fever_Discordia: Heh took me a while to realise that this was a pack of new releases (for GOG) That's actually pretty sweet then, especially for the Steam allergic...
Personally I have too many elsewhere, have too big a backlog, been spending too much on games this month etc. etc.
Good to get 5 releases out of the way in one go and not over 5 weeks too, though!
Ha!
I didn't realize that either.
They've been around for so long and in bundles and such that I didn't see the bit about them just being released.
I suppose that in a way they are old games, so they're good for lovers of old and indie games.

It's not because something is cheap that it's worth buying...

The good thing about VVVVVV, though, is that it has checkpoints on almost every screen. That way you can retry the same bit over and over again without lots of backtracking.

It really is quite good. If not that game, then consider gateways. I'm pretty sure there was a demo on steam or elsewhere that can give you an idea. It is like a 2d portal with a whole stack of new, brilliant ideas.
Wow what is this, GOG's take on a humble bundle or something. Seem like a good bargain to me.

For me, the more games i can transfer over (buy again) from other places to GOG, especially Steam, the better. I just know that more games on GOG = more DRM free games in the world. Even if some of these games were already DRM free in other places, i'd still rather have them in my GOG library :).

Own all of these already so...

Adventures of Shuggy - Really fun platformer game that throws every twist possible in the mix design-wise (well within reason. It doesnt suddenly become a flight simulator or anything). Theres some issues screen-sizing wise but other than that, its a fun run.

Gateways - Same dev as Shuggy, also really good fun. A game that plays with the whole Portal Puzzle idea and chucks in portals that shrink/expand you, portals that change gravity and portals that create time copies of you. Some of the later puzzles get ridiculously difficult though.

Ben There Dan That/Time Gentlemen Please - Very fun point and click double pack thats very highly reminiscent of Lucasarts classics. Both are incredibly short though.

Escape Goat - YAY! I love this platformer gem. Tight controls, levels that never really become unfair (Unless you play the extra pack. ohhh boy)

VVVVVV - Another incredibly fun platformer that flips you up, down and all over the place. Heavily reccomened.

Basically, if you dont own these titles... GRAB THEM :D

I feel the same, but golden shower has dual meanings now-a-days. I was hoping it was the old meaning but now im starting to wonder.

Why would I ever do that. Get yo mind out of the gutter m8
Gateways is a decent game with a peculiar setting. The problem is the last puzzle / objective. It's ridiculous, here's a video in case anyone won't buy it: Gateways Last Puzzle on Hard

Thanks for the advice but they just don't look like my kind of thing. I might check out the point and clickers though..
