On Dec 17 Mega Man will return to face off against 8 new Robot MAste...... I mean 8 world Warriors from Street Fighter, including Ryu, Blanka, Chun Li and others.

Didn't see this one coming.
I automatically clicked on the thread when I saw the "Free" part :D
Oh god I want it, but why is it free? I don't understand.

Where is the catch? ahhh
I don't think there is a catch. It's basically a promotional game that didn't cost too much to make. MM has been off the radar for years and Capcom needed to reintro him somehow.

(the game was also fanmade and distributed by Capcom)

I'm personally not sure how to take this. I've outgrown the retro 8-bit look and would have preferred slicker sprites.
Badass.

I'd have preferred 16-bit as well, but it IS the anniversary, after all. It makes sense that they'd go with the super-retro graphics and sound.

You're poo-pooing the fact that a FREE fangame doesn't have the polish of Megaman Zero's graphics?!? Seriously?
This is a better anniversary gift to the Mega Man fans than that iOS...thing.

Even with that it looks interesting. I might give it a try since it's free.

What's funny is it looks MORE professional than the iOS game. I first thought it was a pay release like MM9 and 10 were.

So they took a fan game and gave it their blessing instead of ACTUALLY GOING FORWARD WITH FUCKING MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3.

Fuck you, Capcom!
Cool! I wonder if GOG could put the game onto their site as a free download and start a relationship with Capcom. It would be wonderful if they could bring the Phoenix Wright trilogy game to the PC...

Anyhow, I will definitely pick up the game. :)

Depends on whether it's Capcom USA or Capcom Japan.
I would be lying if I said I'm not interested. But it doesn't change the fact that it's just some lame attempt by Capcom to save face from all the recent Mega Man-related bad rep they have been getting.
Holy shit holy shit holy shit holy shit

I don't care if it's a fan project and not something made completely, but only published by Capcom. I love Mega Man an enormous amount, and seeing the trailer got me really excited. A perfect way to start up my Sunday! :) I'm especially glad to see it's an 8-bit game; IMO that's the best way to present Mega Man (because I grew up with the NES games)
