Today, you can start killing monsters.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, the first two chapters in the gritty RPG series from CD Projekt RED, following the morally ambiguous deeds of the white-haired monster slayer Geralt of Rivia, are available 75% off on GOG.com. That's $2.49 for the first and $4.99 for the second title, until Tuesday, August 27, at 3:59AM GMT (Promo extended!).

Geralt is a wandering monster slayer from the order of the witchers. In a perfect world he would travel from one village to another, killing ghouls and wyverns for a hefty pouch of gold, celebrating his victories with fine mead and ale at local inns, and then waking up each morning (or noon) next to the woman he loves. But the world of The Witcher is far from perfect -- teeming with hatred, dark magic, cruelty, prejudice, dirty politics and outright stupidity. But all the things that make Geralt’s life harder contribute to one of the most vivid, believable game worlds in cRPG history.

The third game in CD Projekt RED hit series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming DRM-free to GOG.com in 2014. Have you seen its recently released CGI trailer titled "Killing Monsters"? Take a moment to immerse yourself in the atmospheric vision of Geralt's grim and unwelcoming world.

While you wait for the third, why don't you give a shot at the first two? Both games are third-person perspective action-RPGs highly praised for their rich environment, mature story, memorable and lifelike characters, and succulent dialogue. Get both The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for only $7.48, or separately at $2.49 and $4.99 accordingly. That's whole 75% off, until Tuesday, August 27, at 3:59AM GMT (Promo extended!).

So this is the weekend promo?
Or will there be one in conjuction with this one?

Nice price anyway :)
Only $4.99? Cripes. Your eroding my resistance! (Wouldn't be able to play it for ages)
I think there is a special bond between gog and CD red. I am going to use my special powers to undercover this mystery.

Put on my sherlock holmes hat and uncover the connection

BTW the wither series is great
This trailer is soooo goood... First time I watched it I put my face next to the screen just to figure out which actor is playing Witcher.... Then I realised it's CGI... But the best I have ever seen and the closest one to real life characters. The face and animation of the woman and Geralt is just perfect... I know that this game I will preorder for sure and then I will probably wait a year or so for the Extended Edition. In the meantime I will try to finish Witcher 2 with Combat Rebalance Mod 2... For this little price the game (W2) is a must have - even just to see the animations...
I thought you were announcing the release of Witcher 3 today.
Oh, well.
Great promo!

Ah, Witcher 2...I remember pre-ordering this title before it came out

well worth the full price I paid for it, 5 bucks for the second game is an absolute steal, everyone get it right now

Especially with the fact that Witcher 3 is releasing later this year this is a great time to play these games if you haven't played them yet

It's not really mystery, CD Projekt RED own GoG. it's as simple as that:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GOG.com

GOG.com (formerly Good Old Games) is a computer game sale and distribution service operated by GOG Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of CD Projekt RED based in Larnaca, Cyprus.

In fact, it is CD Projekt which owns CD Projekt RED and GoG, IIRC :)
