Buy any game on GOG.com and get the Witcher 1, too, free for a limited time!
This is the final week of our 5th Birthday Celebration. We're going to go above and beyond the call of birthday, though, and give you guys something incredible for our final thank you: buy anything on GOG.com--yes, anything--and get a free copy of [url=http://www.gog.com/game/the_witcher]The Witcher: Enhanced Edition with any purchase.

In case you don't know about it (how don't you know about it if you've found your way here?) the game has been lauded as:

"a fantastic RPG, and an amazing achievement for first-time Polish developer CD Projekt" (PC Gamer)

and

"one of the most engrossing, mature games in years" (Gamespot).

It's a definite must-have for all RPG fans and, frankly, all story-oriented mature gamers, and now, for an entire week it comes at an unbeatable price of free!

Combine that with the sale that we have right now on Divinity: Dragon Commander for extra promotional goodness, or find anything else that strikes your fancy and get a copy of the Witcher. Buy one for your friends--heck, at this price go ahead and buy one for people you don't even like all that much. ;)

This special offer lasts until Thursday, October 17 at 9:59 AM GMT

Dev_Null: I bought a thing (Divinity: Dragon Commander, if it matters) and already own the Witcher; was going to gift the code to a friend but I don't know how to get it?
Do you mean you don't know how to get the code or how to gift it to your friend?
If it's the former, you should have received the code by email - if you haven't, you should contact Support.
If it's the latter, you should direct your friend here: https://secure.gog.com/redeem, though the redeem path should also be in the above mentioned email in the form of: https://secure.gog.com/redeem/XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

EDIT: typos

As Hypersomniac said, you should have a code in your email. If you don't, let Support know.
This is a great idea. I already own The Witcher EE twice but I can use the code to infect someone who doesn't use gog yet, with the dreaded gog syndrome.
I've been wondering, if you buy multiple games do you get the same number of Witcher copies, or only 1 copy?

If you buy those games separately, then you'll get a copy of the Witcher with every purchase.

Thanks for the information.

HGiles: I am actually completely uninterested in the Witcher universe entirely.

EDIT: Oh, and in a move that ticks me off a bit, GOG seems to just be adding this to people's account then they purchase? I thought there was a code that I could just ignore. Now I have to send a ticket in to get this taken off. For goodness' sake GOG, it's great that you love the Witcher but not everyone does.

deonast: Ok I'd +1 your previous comment about the Witcher very amusing, though I'm a little worried by the last one.
Hoping this is sarcasm and I'm just missing the tone. If I didn't want a game and it got added to my list I doubt I'd be too worried, not if I didn't pay for it. I can't see how one more game in the list makes a difference.
LOL 'worrying' is a little strange here. I'm actually serious. The one-time minor annoyance of sending in a ticket is completely outweighed by the minor annoyance of being co-opted involuntarily into a marketing scheme for something I don't like. I've got a backlog of 300 or so games last I checked, so I'm not at all going to miss the game I purchased.

Honestly, the lack of compelling games is one thing that's been bugging me about GOG for the past few months. They've released a lot of compelling things for people who aren't me. It's just something that happens, but it's a bit disappointing.

I already have The Witcher but it still is a awesome deal for those that don't! You guys(GOGs?) aren't very good at not being awesome! :)

Ok,...I bought two games yesterday, and I bought two games today.
Each purchase gave me one free Witcher:EE - key.

And there are still three occasions for me to buy games (Mon - Wed / on Thu I wont be able to purchase anything before the offer expires, due to work) - so I could end up with a total of five keys for Witcher: EE...

Just one question: will I be able to swap those five keys for a free Witcher 3 (when it's available)? ;o)

Now you'll just have to find enough people who don't already own it. =P

But everybody owns it by now, don't they???
