I did not back this project, but after the controversies surrounding it, I'm rather interested how it will turn out (particularly because it will be the first of the "big" kickstarter games that is completed).
Um - FTL finished already. And Double Fine's adventure is out already too isn't it?

Anyway, everything I hear just makes me more glad that I didn't back this project. More money and time for games on GOG.

FTL finished a while ago, but their kickstarter sum was $200k, compared to the $1.8M of Shadowrun. I think it will be the first among the projects beyond $1M, right? And the Double Fine adventure is still in development.

Yeah...I was surprised to find out that they were licensing the Shadowrun IPO from Microsoft; the way the Kickstarter was set up seemed like they got it back. :-\

Still, I hope it turns out to be really good, that way I don't come to regret pledging it.

Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded was released yesterday/today at 12AM. It had a final Kickstarter amount of $655,182, with $500K being the goal.

So Shadowrun Returns could very well be the first with a budget of >1 million to finish.

Why is the new Shadowrun so cheap? I mean, it is a Shadowrun game. They could charge so much more for a copy of the game get away with it.

Because it's an indie game and what's more a traditional RPG. They don't sell at full prices. On the rare occassion when they do people start coming out of the woodwork whining about it, the very same folks shelling out 70 bucks for a formulaic, unimaginative big studio game that happens to have a higher advertising budget.
