Detective-mystery meets paranormal thriller!
A season pass for Cognition. An Erica Reed Thriller, an episodic point-and-click adventure story packed with challenging puzzles, branching paths, and a disquieting mood, is available on GOG.com 33% off. That's only $19.99 for the first week.
Erica Reed is an exceptional detective, but being special always comes at a price. Her extraordinary gift, allowing her a peek into the past by simply touching an object, makes her the ultimate bloodhound, and yet, causes excruciating mental pain. Her own past is marred irreparably by a personal tragedy. Can she conquer her demons by solving one morbid case after another, or will the unfading shadow of her brother's killer torment her forever? The mystery thickens, as someone starts leaving clues, that can only be uncovered with the use of Erica's unique ability. Who? Why? Can the troubled detective last long enough to find out?
So wait a minute--a season pass?
This may be something new for some of you, so we wanted to let you guys know what we mean by "Season Pass."Cognition. An Erica Reed Thriller consists of four episodes (fourth of which will be released on GOG.com, on 19 September 2013), each of them investigating a seemingly unrelated murder case. Each mystery is its own self-contained game, and when you buy a season pass you'll get all of the games in the "season". You're essentially preordering a season of episodic games. In this case, we already have Episodes 1, 2, and 3 available right now, so you're only preordering Episode 4, which is coming out in a week's time. By buying a season pass now, you're saving 33% off the price of the full season. So if this looks like your kind of thing, picking it up now saves you $9.99.
Uncover dark mysteries behind grisly killings and lead detective Erica Reed to absolution over four tension-filled episodes of Cognition. An Erica Reed Thriller, available DRM-free on GOG.com, for only $19.99. The offer lasts until Thursday, September 19, at 5:59AM GMT.
Are you able to/want to put The Silver Lining here as freeware for everybody?
Looks interesting but I have more than enough p&c adventures at the moment...

The Silver Lining can only be distributed regularly from our website and mirrors, per our agreement with Activision. But it is always 100% free and always available at our store: store.postudios.com :)
I figured this was going to happen sooner or later, but I find it amusing that GOG didn't just wait a week to release the whole thing in one go because the current deal seems a little silly to me.

Still, I do like myself a good adventure game, so I'm quite interested.

Well, it wouldn't stop GOG from inquiring. After all, they already have a working relationship with Activision. Never say never. ;)

Nice, although I think we don't really need a new word for it. Basically it is just a bundle of games that you pre-order.

I mean that it is just a bit silly to speak of one game that consists of several more or less unrelated games when you could speak of a bunch of several more or less unrelated games only instead. Why making things more complicated than necessary.

I rarely preorder, so I pass this and wait for christmas. :)

Oo, free stuff, ta!
A nice release.
Thought I had already posted a reply, but it got lost somewhere without being posted (probably tried to reply to another thread without actually hitting post message since the forum seems to overwrite one reply window with the next without warning).

Anyway, this game does look interesting and I don't mind the episodic format so long as there is something like a guarantee that they will be completed, and with episode 4 ready for release a week away that sure seems to be the case here.

Waffled a bit on the decision, but after watching the trailer and reading the good reviews and comments here splurged a bit and picked it up.

Awesome ! I started the first ep this week, I'm enjoying it !
Clicking on "wishlist" button :-)
Bought the first three episodes separatley, but I just had to buy the season pass here :P.
I bought this game through Phoenix Online's store and I absolutely love this game. I remember them saying that if they got released on Steam Greenlight purchasers would get codes for that, but I am hoping with it's release on GOG maybe we will have the option of a GOG code instead because I would much rather another DRM-free version to back up this wonderful game. The first game did have it's rough edges but those seemed to be ironed out for the most part by Episode 2. Normally I really dislike episodic gaming, however, there are a few exceptions and this I can say is one of them. From the characters, to the story, to the atmosphere, to the music, it all has a delightful sense of mystery and is worth a play through in my opinion (or in my case several). :)
Looks like a cool game, also like the season pass concept.
Well, with all these glowing reviews it looks like I am about to step into the shoes of Erica Reed for the night :D

Time to get all comfy and stuff :)
