Detective-mystery meets paranormal thriller!
A season pass for Cognition. An Erica Reed Thriller, an episodic point-and-click adventure story packed with challenging puzzles, branching paths, and a disquieting mood, is available on GOG.com 33% off. That's only $19.99 for the first week.
Erica Reed is an exceptional detective, but being special always comes at a price. Her extraordinary gift, allowing her a peek into the past by simply touching an object, makes her the ultimate bloodhound, and yet, causes excruciating mental pain. Her own past is marred irreparably by a personal tragedy. Can she conquer her demons by solving one morbid case after another, or will the unfading shadow of her brother's killer torment her forever? The mystery thickens, as someone starts leaving clues, that can only be uncovered with the use of Erica's unique ability. Who? Why? Can the troubled detective last long enough to find out?
So wait a minute--a season pass?
This may be something new for some of you, so we wanted to let you guys know what we mean by "Season Pass."Cognition. An Erica Reed Thriller consists of four episodes (fourth of which will be released on GOG.com, on 19 September 2013), each of them investigating a seemingly unrelated murder case. Each mystery is its own self-contained game, and when you buy a season pass you'll get all of the games in the "season". You're essentially preordering a season of episodic games. In this case, we already have Episodes 1, 2, and 3 available right now, so you're only preordering Episode 4, which is coming out in a week's time. By buying a season pass now, you're saving 33% off the price of the full season. So if this looks like your kind of thing, picking it up now saves you $9.99.
Uncover dark mysteries behind grisly killings and lead detective Erica Reed to absolution over four tension-filled episodes of Cognition. An Erica Reed Thriller, available DRM-free on GOG.com, for only $19.99. The offer lasts until Thursday, September 19, at 5:59AM GMT.

tarasis: What format/bitrate does the soundtrack come in?
avatar
katiehal16: It's a high bitrate compressed mp3 format.
Hi Katie,

Just wanted to let you know that Erica needs to learn how to manage her time well and buy flowers of her own instead of "borrowing" them :P

Trying not to spoil anything for anyone here... I hope :D

Yeah, like there are no florists standing at the gates to every cementary :)
But, as a Thievin' Bastard you should rather say: "Erica needs to look around before 'borrowing' flowers' :)

Hey Katie, I just read some favorable reviews on episode 3, and was just wondering how you feel episode 4 has shaped up in comparison? (Of course you're probably biased ;P )

I was not even aware of this game until GOG posted about, but I must say it looks fascinating. Besides I love to see female red-haired green-eyed protagonists. Do you have any plans for more Erica Reed games? (I'll be buying this one as soon as I find some money)

Well, I haven't lived in the US for a few years now but IIRC you can't solicit or sell things around a cemetery like you can here in Poland :P

I'll always remember violin players on a cementary in my hometown, every year on November 1th.
Moody!
I sent an email to get the discount from POStudios, but I have yet to receive a reply, has anyone else had this issue? I got one reply but they asked me for how many episodes I have already but haven't received my code, and I'm not sure if they have a backlog or if I should probably send another email.

I am admittedly biased. :) But! I also think it's really good. The last episode definitely has a different feel--we've described it before as being very tense the whole way through. By the time you get to Episode 4, the mysteries are revealed or solved, so this is the action-packed resolution (so to speak). No slow moments, it keeps moving until it hits the end. And I REALLY like how the end together!

We do have some ideas for potential future Erica Reed games. It'll depend on how this one does, of course, and either way it's not the next thing on our plate.

Also! We're having a livestream launch party next Thursday at 11 AM PDT/2 PM EDT, including taking some live Q&A from the chat! It'll be broadcast on our youtube channel: youtube.com/postudios :)

Hi Theta,

Sorry about that--we did get an influx of requests (on top of the wrapping-up-the-game craziness). I'll get back to you about that now. :)

Howdy,

No worries, I figured that was probably the case, but decided to post here in case there was possibly any other issues going on. Thank you, I appreciate it and I cannot wait to play the final chapter of this fantastic game. :) I just got the email and I appreciate it the quick response.

Any chance of a FLAC version getting released in the future, maybe selling the soundtrack on bandcamp or something. I do like my lossless music.

Does indeed I was thinking about pulling the trigger and shelling over some more money, I had backed the project originally (just missed the kickstarter so paypal backed) and was contemplating if I'd get it again here (it's been an expensive week for me). For that price I have no problems at all. Happy for more money to go to Phoenix Online and GOG.
hi, katiehal16, is there any chance to se your other projects on GOG also...let say FACE NOIR?
Thank you!
