Munkee79: Wait, nevermind. The video file instantly crashes Vegas anytime I try to import it.
Try using the wmv version I uploaded, Vegas should give you less problems!

Thanks, I did manage to finagle it on my own terms eventually.

Here's my crack at it (with the problem parts from my upload earlier sawn off): "Oldschool is New Again".

FOR THE RECORD: the video file is about 2 frames short of 1:00 exactly, YouTube is misrepresenting it as 1:01.

Good Morning and thanks xyem for your answer.

I have a Problem, i can´t post my link.

Have any other those Problems before?

G-Doc: As for the trailer--sky is the limit! As long as you don't use anything that would make your video blocked by YouTube, there's absolutely nothing you can't do within your minute of screentime. :-D

Any chance I can enter with it, or do I have to put GOG.com in the end to be eligible?
I hope there's a GOG person here who can answer, because I did put a lot of work into that.

G-Doc: If you could only re-cut it, so it *does* follow the contest rules, sure! I think it's quite brilliant and I would love to have it among the entries. But as long as it doesn't follow the guidelines, it wouldn't be fair to other contestants.
No problem! Here it is, the new and improved -

A Message from Gib
GOG.com ROTT fan trailer by RefaelBA

Plus, this video is completely safe to use and reproduce.
Thanks for hosting a cool contest GOG!

P.S.
Notice that the video is actually 1:00, not 1:01 like YouTube says (at 0:59 it "jumps" straight to 1:01)

I'm going to assume Track 3 is Going Down the Fast Way. We don't know if a trailer for that track will be done by the 31st or not - we'll upload one anyway. Anyway, we're more proud of this one.

This also actually follows the guidelines, as there's no credits at the end which extend the video length.

Narushima: Like not using exclusively what's in the package?
avatar
G-Doc: There is no rule that would limit you to just the contents of the package.
I thought that was what the rules originally stated, and I still think that's a better rule, since it all puts us on an equal footing. You have to do your best with what you have, creativity only will serve as judgement.
Saying "anything goes" makes it sort of pointless/

Munkee79: So since this is all just fanmade and not technically commercial promo material[...]
No, of course it's not promotional. It just makes the game better known, that's all...

I agree with that to a point. They really needed to include the developers, publisher and at least give us the game title, not just the GOG logo to put at the end. It just feels and looks weird making a trailer without those things.

I enjoyed this, hope there are more contests like this in the future :)
