The ghost hunt begins anew!

Dark Fall: The Journal and Dark Fall 2: Lights Out, two gripping horror adventure games sporting a thick atmosphere with more than just a hint of ectoplasm, are returning to GOG.com today, for only $5.99 each.

Ghosts, apparitions, spirits--whether you see them or not, they're a part of our world just like the forces of nature, economy, and your postman. In most cases, they're separated from the mundane realm by a thin, yet impenetrable veil. There are some places, however, where the veil is thinner, and there are some people who can see through it. All. The. Time. If you're not one of these people, be thankful. Strange things happen around those with psychic abilities. The mere presence of such people throws the reality off balance. Sometimes, the other side pushes against the barrier so hard, that the worlds collide without a medium present. Some places break down under the pressure and become permanently haunted. In such places the mundane logic becomes suspended, and the realm of the strange and terrifying opens before humans. These games tell of such events and places.

Dark Fall: The Journal and Dark Fall 2: Lights Out are a shining example of paranormal activity-focused storytelling in gaming. Each of the games tells a gripping story in which the protagonist becomes involved in events that go far beyond our mundane understanding of the world. They create a first-person perspective experience that masterfully captures the eerie atmosphere of a ghost hunt, where the presence of strange forces feel very real and close. With immersive story and many intriguing puzzles these games should satisfy anyone looking for some chill-inducing adventure. Both games were available on GOG.com in the past, but had to be temporarily excluded from our catalog. Now, they're back to haunt you, and you'll enjoy it if they do.

Dark Fall: The Journal and Dark Fall 2: Lights Out eluded us for some time, but now they came back from the gaming limbo and we have them locked in our GOG.com proton pack, ready to bring them directly to your drive for only $5.99 each.
Already wishted.
Nice seeing these back, thanks gog!

I played both after buying them here. Then i went for Dark Fall 3 and it was off because of the Dreaded Limbo. i have to say, I am very heartily pleased to see them back from limbo. I liked them a very great deal, and want to see three here soon. Any thoughts from anyone as to how we might accomplish this sooner? Dark Fall is exactly the kind of horror/investigation game I love; it's like Scratches and Myst, To the Moon... Traumata... The Last Door...EX MORTIS... skutnik's awesome MORBID, DAYMARE and SUBMACHINE...15 Coins... GYOSSEIT... scriptwelder's DEEP SLEEP... there aren't many of those with a serious bent that provides their level of quality that -I- have been able to find, having found and played most of those that are still playable (CRYING FIT) which I -COULD- find/obtain already (what genre are those, anyway?) , and I NEED to see more. MANY. MORE. And I don't mean 7th Guest. That sucked for me. too quirky and silly and the puzzles, while fun, were shoehorns that yanked you out of the story like a good case of relatives with the gout. the Second one though, That was one billion times better. it had actual story that dragged you in. although the constant annoying dialogue was annoying, I have to say it added to the rich story by giving you a distraction you couldn't ignore to take your eyes away from the main line.

PLEASE give us more games like Dark Fall... which have deep story and atmosphere but not the endless stream of chase scenes and dialogue, or meaningless battles. Also, I desire a pony. READ: unicorn, aka BELA the horse.

Oh wow, that was very unfortunate =c
Thanks GOG for bringing these back and working with the developer and publisher to resolve the distribution rights issues. Thanks also to ThomNG for sharing the post/announcement from the Nordic Games site.
Their return has meant that there are now 600 games in the GOG catalogue. I thought that event would be marked by some kind of offer :(

Still, nevermind. Let's hope they're working on bringing back others that were removed. If I remember, XIII was one such game.

Great to see these back, and I'm glad you were able to get the rights tangle sorted out.

I don't see Barrow Hill on your list; be sure to check it out if you haven't already. Very similar feel to the Dark Fall games.
Nice to see that they got upgrades too.
Edit: nevermind

Bought the games a little while ago, but I never heard of this publishing mess until today. So does this mean the developer did not receive his share for the 2 copies I bought? Not sure I'm ok with this...
In that linked article it mentions the guy who wrote the games having a bit of a dig at gog on his facebook which I find pretty unfair. If a publisher tells you they have the rights to a game you go with it, obviously, unless you know otherwise. He shouldn't blame gog.
Sorry if someone has covered this already, but what's the story with having already brought these?

Both Dark Fall games are in my collection, and if I want to upgrade them does it essentially mean purchasing them over again? (Since they're not listed in the "new and updated" category)
