28. Double-Knot your Shoes

Zombie Shooter, a frantic top-down isometric trigger-happy mayhem with massive levels, filled to the brim with repulsive animated corpses, and sporting RPG-like upgrade mechanics adding an extra layer of depth to the simplest zombie-survival gameplay concept, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99!

While developers get really creative with the name of their game, a down-to-earth straightforward title will sometimes take you a long way. Gamers like to know what they get into. With a game like Zombie Shooter everything is right there in the open. You look at the title screen and every misconception about unicorns, buggy racing, and managing a football team instantly disappear like the morning mist. You'll be shooting firearms at the life-challenged individuals. Hordes of zombies, lots of led, isometric view, and some interesting RPG-like character development and upgrade mechanics. Sigma Team, the creators of fan-favorite Alien Shooter series have done it once again. What a pleasant pastime!

Make sure to pack plenty of heat and stay on your toes, as you experience the fun part of the zombie apocalypse in Zombie Shooter, for only $5.99 on GOG.com!
This is way too much for this game, especially without any bonus. It was enjoyable but not very lengthy.

Too bad it was sold a bunch of times in bundles. I don't know if it was provided DRM-free in the past though.

....On the one hand it's about time, on the other, I'm sad and disappointed that this has taken up the weekly classic game slot.

Edit: 2007 hardly a classic game release. I always thought these games were older than that.

I have to agree. I think bought this for 70 odd p a few years back
Isnt this like an exact copy of Alien Shooter, just that they have switched up aliens with zombies? Kinda disapointed :(

2007 IS 6 years ago now - GOG was releasing games older than 5 year from the start...

Yes, it has. Specifically ShinyLoot did provide it DRM-Free.
it is an ok game but i find to similar to the earlier games.
I knew it was going to be a zombie survival game. I'm not sure what this has to do with a bookkeeper though.

In any case I'll pass, I haven't finished Alien Shooter 1 yet.
Got to echo the disappointment - it's been bundled countless times, is frequently on sale and has been surpassed by improved versions, so to ask $6 (which isn't a great sum, admittedly) for it without any of the GOG-usual extras seems a bit strange.

That said, I *LOVE* this rendition of the box art/that background. I wants it.

That's true, I'm always doing that with games and films, it seems like only yesterday. Still a disappointing slot use though, would've been much more palatable if they'd released something else as well.

Tune in for Zombie Shooter 2 next week!

Another pile of cash stored for Christmas Sale :-/
Definitely predicted wrong on this one. Oh well.
From what I remember it's a fun fast-paced shooter, mindlessly entertaining. Also, any time a new game is added here is a good thing. The more games you can get without having to go through something like Steam, the better.
That being said, still waiting with a fistful of cash and growing impatience for the end of the year blowout.
I played Alien Shooter 2, it was a pretty fun top-down shooter, but what ruined it was that missions take forever without any way to save during missions.
hmmm not really that good i'm afraid... Fun for maybe 1-2 hours and then you'll probably never play this again. Also is this considered a classic?? In that case: you're reaching gog!
