Meowing. Meowing. Meowing! Meowing in your head.

The Cat Lady, a visually bewildering point-and-click adventure game with dark and violent theme and a mad, genuinely unnerving story, is available 25% off on GOG.com. That's only $7.49 for the first week!

People are imperfect. That's a fact. But just knowing it, and seeing the extent of their imperfection, makes a colossal difference. So filled with fear, and aggression we are, us humans. Always threading so close to the edge of sanity, keeping the madness at bay only by means of everyday habits and social contract. But on the inside? What kind of insane thoughts fester the mind of the people you randomly pass by on the streets? What sick ideas would you find, if you had the ability to look into the minds of your close ones? Your neighbors? Your co-workers? You'll never know. But admit it, deep inside you're terrified of what might be going on in other people's heads. The true human nature might be the greatest horror in existence. This is a game playing on those fears.

The Cat Lady uses the classic point and click mechanics to tell a story that will put your mind way outside your comfort zone. It depicts violence, fear, and psychosis in a way that's both surreal and unsettlingly realistic. Its original art style adds even further to the depressive and unhinging mood. If you like an occasional trip to the other side of sanity and you're not afraid of some explicit imagery on the way, The Cat Lady will be an experience you won't soon forget.

Sometimes, we like to challenge you to stare deep into the void. Today is one of these days. Go on, get The Cat Lady for only $7.49 on GOG.com. Play it. Stay sane. Come back for more.

Yes.

Mivas: All The Cat Lady material I have encountered till now indicated that the game is very brutal, gore. That's something I didn't enjoy about Lucius but I used to like I Have No Mouth And I MUST Scream, for example. Is the game story-oriented with rare nasty moments or is it bloodfest?
Fixed that for you. :p

It's a deep, emotional story about survival, restoration, friendship and finding one's happyness back... Hidden under some strong - yet not very realistic - gore.
I found Lucius "meh" and really enjoyed I have no mouth... And I totally loved The Cat Lady.
Try the demo and \ or watch some Let's Plays (I really enjoyed TheRPGMinx's LP) if you're not sure about the game...

Thank you for the summary, Novotnus. I didn't know there was demo that will be the perfect solution for sorting out my hesitancy :).

And GOG, please add demo feature already!

Thanks :). I will try the demo first but I need to leave my workplace first.

Thumbs up for Cognition Ch1. Wasn't Candle Cove the legendary creepy TV series traumatizing people who used to watch it as kids?

That's unexpected.
Watching the trailer I can tell it's too realistic for my taste. :)

I like my violence in fantasy mode, not in the real world with real world graphic language.

I'm sure some on GOG will love it, but it's not for me.

Give it a try with some Let's Play - it's not THAT realistic... and there are some other themes : )

Yes, and then some people clamored to have it included in the GoG catalogue. And GoG re-decided accordingly. So I guess some people will be very happy today.

For me it's wishlisted for now until I have some time and money left for it.

If the game aimed to be disturbing, it definitely succeeded.

Watching the trailer gave me a very uneasy feeling... Maybe I just need to put something in my belly.

I must say the execution looks brilliant, but I'm not 100% sure I want to go to that place.
