Mother Earth needs YOU, pilot.

Strike Suit Zero, a visually stunning revival of space combat sim genre, with many fresh gameplay ideas, featuring dynamic action, sleek spacecraft design, and mindblowing music, is now available on GOG.com, 20% off. That's only $15.99, this week only!

The story is simple: evil forces armed with an alien relic attack the Earth and destroy almost entire U.N.E. fleet. You, a disgraced pilot named Adams, are the only force standing between the Colonials and annihilation of our homeworld. Sure it's a story you've heard before, but none of those stories offered you a chance to unleash the power of the Strike Suit. You, destroying entire fleets almost single-handedly--it's that kind of story.

Strike Suit Zero balances between simulation and arcade shooter and manages to create a fantastic combat experience. In the first few levels you pilot a "normal" starfighter--a one you'd expect from a space combat sim. However, it's the Strike Suit that allows the game to fully shine, offering a sense of empowerment like no other space sim and allowing you to eradicate your opponents with a flurry of deadly missiles and triumph over enemy forces that outnumber you 10 to 1. It is fairly difficult but not unfair, as mouse + keyboard controls work intuitively, until you grab a recommended joystick, of course :) Both space-sim fans and more "casual" gamers will enjoy the hell out of setting the space skies on fire.

If you're worried about not getting DLCs with the GOG.com version, then stop. All users who purchase the game or a gift code within the first month will get the DLC-pack for free. Yes. More death-dealing space mechs are coming!

Missing that unpaired rush of adrenaline one can only get from dogfighting enemy fighters in the depths of space? Don't hesitate to join the U.N.E. Fleet, get Strike Suit Zero today, for only $15.99! The discount will last until Thursday, January 31, 1:29PM GMT.
...I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more games until at least August, but this; this may be the one that breaks me.

Bloodygoodgames: But....Torchlight is THE best game I've ever bought on GOG and, I'd have to say, one of the Top 3 games I've ever played.
avatar
F4LL0UT: Just out of curiosity: have you actually played other CRPGs before that? True, Torchlight is among the best CRPGs but it did not make SUCH a great impression on me because while it's extremely well done and beautifully executed it felt like "just another CRPG" to me.
avatar
Endzville: Would read some other reviews too and not base such worries purely on that.
avatar
F4LL0UT: Yeah, I don't trust Eurogamer anyway (even less than most other major review sites out there). In fact I only really trust the Polish mag CD-Action but since it's a monthly magazine it may take a while until their review arrives.
I think I can probably count on one hand the RPGs I HAVEN'T played :) and this is absolutely the best of all of them. Sooooo much better than Diablo 1 and 2 (avoided 3 as it looks like crap and, after mostly slamming reviews, and my disappointment playing 2 I've given it a miss).

So much better than the Fallout series, better than the Ultima series and even better than my beloved Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate (although the story lines are better in these two by far).

To me Torchlight is as close to 'perfect' of a game I've ever played. Gorgeous graphics, fun hack n slash, excellent side missions, love the pet addition, love that the pet can fetch and carry for you, levelling up is cool, the difficulty levels are nicely balanced, it's linear which I love as I get sick of getting lost in dungeons, music is good, monsters are fun and on and on.

I haven't enjoyed a game this much in years. Will be playing it again and again I think (until I pick up Torchlight 2 that is :) but I'm waiting for that to arrive on GOG before I do.

is the "DLC-pack for free" = Heroes of the Fleet mission pack/DLC?
(est/possible release date: "while the extra missions will arrive March 7." from SSZ KS update 25).

is the soundtrack going to be incorporated into the GOG version as well at some point? (perhaps the plural from the quote "DLCs")

much like everyone else i am curious as to the DLC $rate if i dont add SSZ within the first month, and if the DLC will be hosted here on GOG or if its a code that can be used at the dev/pub website instead as others have guessed.

in any case thanks for 2 great game releases today GOG!
(this feels like 500+ week ^_^)

viranimus: When do the sales on this and NWN2 end? Dont exactly understand GMT and all these +/- 's. I am in US Eastern Standard. Asking because its driving me nuts because it looks like I'm going to miss this as I get fund clearance at 8AM est on Feb 1st. So not sure if this sale ends in the very early hours of Jan 31s, or the early hours of Feb 1st.

Thank you.
Going by the time sale ends and your time zone US Eastern Standard (same as New York I'm guessing)
sale will end at 8:30AM on the 31st January.

Easy way to convert time for different places in the world is use the Time Zone Converter http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
Is it just me, or did I spot a gundam, in them screenshot?

Bavarian: From the game's Kickstarter FAQ:

What languages will the game be available in?

The audio will be English only, but we'll have subtitles localised for English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
From the GOG gamecard:

languages

English
Are these subtitles not available yet, or does GOG again refuse to offer other languages than English, while every other DD store on the internet offers the whole package?
And we have all those languages :D

There was a bit of a mix-up on our side. I apologize about the mix up and you'll find that we changed the gamecard to show the supported languages.

Hm, time to make the GOGWiki page then.

Can I ask you to prod the other blues for an answer on the subject of the "1st month"? An answer of "bears" will also suffice (for now).

Bears, it's bears all the way down.

That does answer my question, seems we have to redeem the code, not just buy the game.

P.S. Tell the bears they can find me in their pit :P

Edit: bolded the difference

keeveek: Whaaaaaaaaa.....?
Woa good thing you pointed that out. My system is still probably 4-6 months off an upgrade so I might just wishlist this for now. Even though I don't get around to playing most games for ages I doubt I could even have a good test run with that. Good to see some high end games coming to GOG though. Either high end or badly coded, I prefer to think the first option.

Fuzzyfireball: So, would a blue text explain the first month thing? Is GOG going to start putting DLC up for sale all the time or is it just when they can't get a complete version? What are the price ranges of the DLC? I don't care if they do it if it means more games coming here but it would be nice if they explained that a little...
Let me 'splain. No, that will take too long. Let me sum up:

1. GOG.com does not currently offer DLCs. There are technical reasons. But:
2. At some point in the future, we intend to be able to. This is more or less required by the business of modern gaming. We will not be able to sign new games unless we have some way to handle DLCs.
3. Once we have that capability, we will offer everyone who bought Strike Suit Zero (or a gift code) in the first month all of the DLC that are available at that time for the game those DLC for free.
4. Note that we won't have ANY SSZ DLC until we actually have the capacity to sell DLC.

I hope this is clear. Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks for the clarification, TET. One quick question: when you say that you will offer all available DLC for free, does that mean all DLC available at that time, with any further DLC requiring a purchase, or will DLC released after that point also be added for free?

(It sounds like a pretty sweet deal either way; I'd just like to be clear on what it means.)

Thanks!
Why do you confuse me again? Confused bears are sad (or dangerous) bears. So, the question (again).
You say

The question is as follows. If I buy a gift code today, and it is redeemed in 6 months, will the person redeeming the code get the DLCs or not?

You're weird. Especially since you've already posted this "as my username implies" thing before.

I think it's clear - they won't add the game to their catalogue within the first month, so the answer is no.
