Mother Earth needs YOU, pilot.

Strike Suit Zero, a visually stunning revival of space combat sim genre, with many fresh gameplay ideas, featuring dynamic action, sleek spacecraft design, and mindblowing music, is now available on GOG.com, 20% off. That's only $15.99, this week only!

The story is simple: evil forces armed with an alien relic attack the Earth and destroy almost entire U.N.E. fleet. You, a disgraced pilot named Adams, are the only force standing between the Colonials and annihilation of our homeworld. Sure it's a story you've heard before, but none of those stories offered you a chance to unleash the power of the Strike Suit. You, destroying entire fleets almost single-handedly--it's that kind of story.

Strike Suit Zero balances between simulation and arcade shooter and manages to create a fantastic combat experience. In the first few levels you pilot a "normal" starfighter--a one you'd expect from a space combat sim. However, it's the Strike Suit that allows the game to fully shine, offering a sense of empowerment like no other space sim and allowing you to eradicate your opponents with a flurry of deadly missiles and triumph over enemy forces that outnumber you 10 to 1. It is fairly difficult but not unfair, as mouse + keyboard controls work intuitively, until you grab a recommended joystick, of course :) Both space-sim fans and more "casual" gamers will enjoy the hell out of setting the space skies on fire.

If you're worried about not getting DLCs with the GOG.com version, then stop. All users who purchase the game or a gift code within the first month will get the DLC-pack for free. Yes. More death-dealing space mechs are coming!

Missing that unpaired rush of adrenaline one can only get from dogfighting enemy fighters in the depths of space? Don't hesitate to join the U.N.E. Fleet, get Strike Suit Zero today, for only $15.99! The discount will last until Thursday, January 31, 1:29PM GMT.

Oooh, so it wasn't actually an issue in the first place, great! I would still like to see an official response to the free DLC thing tho, but I've got a bit more faith in it now.

wolfsite: Dang not XP compatible, guess I can't put off upgrading any longer........ Got about 6-7 years out of this PC though that's pretty impressive.
Aww, same here. Is this the first game on GOG that's not XP compatible? Gonna have to just wishlist this one for now. I'm also curious how DLC will be handled by GOG when it's released. Perhaps this may open the door for more, newer releases.
I'd like to move to Win 7 too, but oh my god, 250 EUR for the copy?!

for that money I could spend a week in Paris! :D

Can't you get Windows 8 for like €40?

You could buy the OEM Win 7, its like $100 american dolars.
Fantastic! :D I cannot wait to play this, I've been waiting for it since it was first announced on Kickstarter. It reminds me a lot of Omega Boost. It looks brilliant.

you guys really do live in some cheap countries :D it's 120 EUR in here... but anyway, I don't want the OEM version, I want to be able to install it on any new computer that I buy (once I've discarded the old one of course)...
Was hoping to see the soundtrack and the artbook among the goodies here but after all they seem to be a part of that "not available yet" DLC... :(

Actually they're part of the collector's edition at steam. I doubt they'll be releasing them here at least for free

ERISS: So, is Freespace2 still the best?
They never said it was Freespace style game. It is space shooter and long overdue if you ask me, totally getting this one...

Roman5: Looks very nice, looking forward to hearing what people will say about this one
Just do not listen to that idiot on Eurogamer - he gave this 3/10 because he "died several times on just one mission". Can you believe that? What score was Dark Souls suppose to get then?

I know that, that's why I was waiting for them on GOG (in the same collector's edition for example).

All users who add the game to their accounts within the first month will get the DLC-pack for free.
So why not?
Dang, this game looks so great. I'm actually considering to buy it despite the hefty price (well, hefty compared to the usual price I'm willing to pay for a digital release). Have to read some reviews ASAP.

Edit:
Holy shit: Eurogamer Review

Haven't read the review yet but 3/10 doesn't sound good. :x

LOL -- I'm in the process of finishing playing Torchlight. (Just have the big boss to kill). I just checked my stats to see I've died in the game a grand total of 173 times and I haven't finished yet. But....Torchlight is THE best game I've ever bought on GOG and, I'd have to say, one of the Top 3 games I've ever played. And that's in 20-plus years of gaming. And yes, I am serious.

If I went with Eurogamer's criteria, Torchlight would be shit :)

Apologies for my ignorance but does this statement imply that GOG does not have any plans to release DLC for those who add the game to their accounts after the first month at all or that it will be a regularly priced addon?
