An Indy platformer.

Spelunky, an addictive, highly-polished roguelike platformer full of arcade challenge, high adventure in randomly generated stages, and heaps of ancient treasures gleaming in the dark, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $13.49 for the first week!

EXTRA! Don't miss our Website Spelunking Challenge! Find golden idols on GOG.com and win one of the cute Spelunky Minis!

A hat, a whip, an attitude, and hunger for adventure--that's all it takes to start your amazing journey into the ominous depths of the ancient temple. The legend has it, that the place holds--among its many secrets--the ultimate treasure of a lost civilization. Beware, though: the underground is swarming with strange monsters and it's full of traps that will end your adventure in the goriest, bloodiest possible ways. There's magic in these caverns and walls, though, that twists time and space. You'll be doomed to repeat your attempts at braving the trap-filled rooms again, and again--and each time they will look different. Such is the amazing power of this place. Will you dare to explore it?

Spelunky is a platformer that challenges you to beat a series of proceduraly-generated stages. Easy as it may seem at first, the task proves to be extremely challenging. Every step you take without dying is a success, and the exit seems to elude you in every level. Trying to grab as many riches on the way, rescue a girl or a boy trapped somewhere near, and make it to the end of the stage in a given time takes more than a little practice. With sleek 2D graphics, great gameplay diversity provided by many power-ups and special locations, and difficulty level that gets really extreme at times, this game will keep you entertained for many, many hours.

If you're the type of person who likes to laugh danger in the face, perform daring rescues, explore ancient ruins, and hunt for unimaginable riches, take on the life of a archaeologist/adventurer in Spelunky, for only $13.49! The 10% off discount offer will last until Thursday, August 15, at 9:59AM GMT.

Bloodygoodgames: OMG, I think I love you :) (Don't worry -- I'm a girl -- well, unless you're a girl too or a gay guy and then you might be worried :)

That's the SECOND superbly fabulous indie game you've bought me in as many months. (I'm still playing Don't Starve several times a week, still loving it and still getting my ass periodically kicked :)

Thank you soooo much. You have no idea how broke I am this month. Pay day is next week and I have a fridge full of food and 97 baht -- in dollars, that's about $3.26 :)

You're a total stud!!!!

Off to download and try!!!

GaminggUy45: No need to thank me i like giving people gifts your welcome and have fun.
Ah, but thanking is also part of the fun of getting the game, as I always love to let people know when they've made me happy :) And I really do appreciate it.

G-Doc: And lastly, to address the matter of our classic releases: The Enigmatic T will be making an announcement soon. He's got some good news :-)

Fesin: "Soon" as in "later today" or as in "a couple of weeks"?
ROTFL, they really should say, shouldn't they? Or we'll all be hanging around for hours on end waiting for the Big T and his 'announcement'. :)

GaminggUy45: Now you have to play it.
Lucky I'm still stuck in the office and my brain snap isn't effective.
Great release. I've been looking forward to this for quite some time.

Everything about the game is amazing. It really is how a remake should be done. Take the existing game and just make everything better.

If you like platformers, or even just like mad-cap adventures, do not hesitate on this game. It's worth it.

Katana accident? What happened? Is he okay?

I believe that would be a joke in reference to the season finale of "This Week On GOG".

Ah, so the classic "announcement of a cryptic announcement"? :P

Thanks, though I have no idea which games he meant.
This looks good, but I'm wondering does this game ever finish (does it atleast have a story) or is it never-ending?
This game looks fantastic. I usually have a low tolerance for games I constantly die in, but this looks too good to miss. Wishlisting for now.

Bloodygoodgames: The bitching about indies gets OLD. It's juvenile, it's self-centered and me me me, and it shows a clear lack of understanding about how a website operates and how much money a business like GOG needs to survive.

Don't like indies, then don't buy them. But for Fucks sake - SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT -- most of us are sick of hearing it.
Some people need to grow up and understand that there are others who enjoy new games as well. Stop being selfish and let others have some fun too.
I bet GOG does its best to bring here as many old and new games as they can and at best prices. But their resources are limited and they are running a business here, so they can only do what is possible and profitable.

And one more thing I can't understand. How people can be so impatient? I have dozens (maybe hundreds?) of games I want to play. I rarely pre-order and I buy at release only to support developers, because I don't need to be in a hurry, I have always something great to play. It really makes me laugh to see people come here and cry that there is no such or such a game released this week. OMG, just come back here after a week and check what's new. Are you people really sitting here 24/7 waiting with your credit card ready to make a purchase any minute? Go and play your games FFS. I come here only when i am at work. When I'm back home I don't even care to take a look at GOG, i don't have time, because guess what? I am playing games :D

Also people seem to forget that GOG them selves said they were not only gonna focus on "good old games." Focusing primarily on older games unfortunately doesn't keep a business running well for long and turning to indie and AAA titles is required for financial stability. That doesn't change GOG's values however as they still deliver good DRM-free games with bonuses at amazing prices.
Instabuy. I don't do that very often.

Love the new art-style - take that, pixel-art nostalgics! - nice BGM, and plenty of gruesome deaths. :) Accidentally hit a shopkeeper with a pickaxe I just bought, and the bastard killed me almost instantly. Heh

True. They know we have strong hermetism toward official jokes.

Back on topic : I'm glad that some duct tape is enough to put things back "as they were'. I never played with my katana in my stairs before because I was in fear of potential acccidents ....but seeing that it can be fixed easily, off I go !!!! YaYYzza !

Thank you gog for showing us the way !
Thank you GoG for this game! Original was fantastic and I was really sad that the upgraded version was only for console. Now, thanks to You I can play it on my sweet laptop! Big kudos and just as big hug! :)
