I'm one with my blade and gun. Gives me advantage, three to one. Better run!

Shadow Warrior, a modern reimagining of the classic melee-heavy FPS starring the ultimate Asian badass, Lo Wang, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's $35.99 for the first week.

The way of the Shadow Warrior takes him wherever his destiny leads, but anyway he goes, he leaves a trail of blood in his wake. And you know what? He loves it! Every slash of the sword, every pull of the trigger, brings a broad smile on his red-splattered face. Looking at him, there's no doubt: he is not entirely sane, but his craziness suits him very well. He's the chosen one, the favorite child of the Asian gods of badassdom and terrible puns. He's Lo Wang, and the World of Men, nor the World of Demons never knew another like him. Zilla corporation should have picked another Wang to mess with. Hakkenshootslashbang!

Shadow Warrior, is the fresh envisionment of the 1997 Shadow Warrior Classic, and while it takes a lot of its controversial predecessor spiritually, it looks and feels very modern. But not too modern. This is not a game that would hold your hand or pair you up with a canine companion. This is pure gory explosive FPS single-player goodness we all love and long for. With beautiful visuals, bold enemy design, and excellent combat mechanics perfect both for gunslingers and melee enthusiast, this action-packed title will satisfy your deepest desire of adrenaline and carnage. All that, with a healthy amount of unsavory humor fans grew to expect from Lo Wang.

Deliver pain and puns like there was no tomorrow in Shadow Warrior, for only $35.99. The 10% discount offer lasts until Thursday, October 3, at 4:59PM GMT.

Ghorpm: FPS is definitely not my cup of tea but this picture made me laugh some time ago :D
I'd laught too, if it weren't so dang true.

On a side note, the map on the left looks kinda like something from one of the Marathon series.

Roman5: Nice release but...still waiting for Hard reset here

Come on Flying Wild Hog, get it here!

xxxIndyxxx: I'll wait till it's in a humble bundle ;) or till i see a review that says it's not as lineair as painkiller ;)

kalirion: Both RPS and TotalBiscuit gushed all over this game, so it's probably a good buy :)

Sashh: I'll be back when it's 10$.
I'm not sure about $10 but I'd definitely wait until it hits one of those 60% off sales myself.
Played two levels and REALLY enjoyed it. Much, much better than Rise of the Triad or Hard Reset. Probably much better than Serious Sam 3. Feels like a PC game too, perfect mouse control, large FOV, fast enemies.

Way too early for a review but I say pull the trigger if you're tempted.
ill wait a bit, but it looks intresting.

Playing the original now :)
Fun :D (though the humor is not for me :P)
I need to build a new rig...

tempted but broke ...
Really enjoyed what little I have played so far. Game runs smooth and controls work excellently.
One minor gripe is the in level loading where the game freeze up for under half a second on a ssd which takes away some from the immersion. That of course only happen when you walk inbetween areas so never interrupt the glorious combat.

Power control felt somewhat stiff but that could just be because I'm new at the game and the sword control is so intuitive and flowing that it just steals the show, I for one hardly used any of the ranged weapons simply because the sword is so much fun.
Just go buy the game already so we get a sequel soon!
I'll wait to see the weekend deal, but it LOOKS really fun.

Point Man: it LOOKS really fun.
Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. I'll have to stick with the original though, my GPU isn't quite up to the task of running this game (Geforce 8600M GT vs. 8800 GT).
Very interesting, but I'll wait... I'm having a kind of overdose of FPS, with Borderlands 2 and all its story DLCs...

TotalBiscuits one really tempted me to buy... but ive held back due to the price..sigh
It has pretty high production values and feels like it was polished before release. It's twice the price of Rise of the Triad, true, but it feels like a get what you pay for situation.
I wanted to try it just for few minutes before going to bed, but I spent 4 hours only by restarting first fights again and again, just to enjoy various ways to chop enemy :D Such a great fun! :D
It looks like it has the potential to be one of the most enjoyable fps games for me!

edit: looks like Jesse Cox enjoyed it too:D http://youtu.be/vc1TwXiBvTA
