There's a man who leads a life of danger.

Secret Agent, a classic Apogee platformer from the EGA-era, with elaborate level design and a licence to kill, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99

You are Agent 006½, the agency's top man specializing in impossible missions. This game tells the story of three such tasks. Over the course of three episodes--The Hunt for Red Rock Rover, Kill Again Island, andDr. No Body--you will infiltrate enemy bases, eliminate designated targets, avoid detection, and steal top secret plans. Well, either that, or you'll run, jump, and shoot your way through in a flashy, camp environment full of platforms, traps and puzzles. Might be more of the latter, than the first.

Secret Agent is a run-and-jump platformer as classic as they get. Released in 1992 by Apogee Software it uses the previously tested mechanics and engine of the Crystal Caves but adds spy pulp-novel setting to the picture. The game sports large, cleverly designed levels filled with traps and puzzles. There are secret bonuses to find on every stage and a varied cast of enemies--ranging from ninjas to robots--to either avoid or eliminate as you carry out your secret mission.

The odds are you won't live to see tomorrow, but isn't risk the spice of life for a Secret Agent? The licence to kill is now only $5.99 on GOG.com!
There's no way I'd pay $6 for this, but on a basically unrelated note, poking around Apogee's Wikipedia page gave me this:
Permission to create this remake had not been obtained from Epyx, the holder of the Jumpman copyright at the time. When Epyx learned of its existence, the company asked Apogee to discontinue it. Thus Jumpman Lives was commercially available for only a few months following its release
"We want to remake another company's game, but don't want to go through the hassle of getting permission to do it. Ah fuck, let's just go ahead and hope they don't notice." That's pretty amazing.
I hope they'll release Commander Keen some day.
Nice, another Apogee classic. I hope the next is Cosmo Cosmic Adventure

Agreed, but apparently that's owned by iD. http://store.steampowered.com/app/9180/ Pricing seems fine, although since the games are $5 there GOG would need to go up or down on them. (Maybe Doom 1 & 2 for $10, etc.)

Always hopeful GOG will sign them soon. ;)
I love me some Apogee platformers, though I think I'm going to hold off on this one till next month.

It'd be fantastic to see the first two Doom titles on here.

People ITT complaining about paying 6 bucks for a classic game that originally sold for 30+......smh

/silly mode

(In all seriousness, it'll probably go on sale at some point during the year, so why complain?)
:D Another great Apogee release so soon, and with Mac support? This is well worth the price. Thanks GOG!
Fuck yes :D

Love the cover art, I assume that's a new thing for GOG?
Played this regularly along with Crystal Caves and Commander Keen in the computer lab in high school my senior year... So, yeah, this is one of the *old* ones... Good times, good times...
Regarding the price, this was determinated by 3D Realms, they had the same price in their site

The cover art was done all in-house :D
DAM! I love this game. Used to play it for week and months on end back when I was a kid. Was one game I would never get tired of, I cant even count how many times I finished it. This game is just purely awesome. I never thought I would see it on here. Some may say 6 bucks is abit much, but well worth it. Some games are just that great.
$5.99 is really a bit much for that game. Maybe if it was bundled with Crystal Caves and Duke 1.
Another game I've never heard of. Seems interesting enough though.

For those who say $6 is too much to pay for this I ask this: Can you buy this game anywhere else for better?
I'm guessing crystal caves is next. Nice to see more Apogee games.
