Re-charge and go!

Re-Volt, a dynamic racing game with tons of fun and excitement that only RC toy cars could possibly provide, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99.

Go through the pipe, use the cardboard ramp to jump across the puddle, zip through the hole in the picket fence and take a sharp turn to fit on the sidewalk. Look at your opponent, he didn't make the turn, and now his car tumbles into the storm drain. Oh no! The battery runs low, and the finish line is still fifty feet away. Time to use the boost, you were saving through the whole race! Wooosh!!! Damn that pidgeon, why did he had to be in the way. Nevermind, the finish line. So close. Battery failing. So slow. Oh no, the buzzing of a tiny engine just around the corner. Get pass the finish line. Now. Victory!

Re-Volt will make your inner child squeal with joy! If you ever got to play with RC cars (or, really, any other type of toy cars as there is no limit to child's imagination), you will find the same whimsical excitement in this fantastic, colorful game. With many types of RC cars to choose from, a great selection of imaginative tracks improvised in some of the most unexpected places, and dynamic gameplay nicely conveying the "light" physics of toy cars. If you're looking for a racing game packed with tons of fun, this classic title is a safe pick for you!

Batteries and plastic can easily prove to be far more exciting than gasoline and metal in Re-Volt, on GOG.com, for only $5.99
YES ! YES ! YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS ! THE SECOND BEST RACING GAME EVER MADE IS HERE ! NOW WE NEED CARMAGEDDON 2 !!!

ShadowWulfe: Why do I keep thinking this game is already here? What other game am I getting this confused with?
P.O.D. has some gameplay similarities, maybe that one ?

I just realized the GOG version doesn't need it. I guess I should have played their version before posting the link. The GOG version needs ZERO tweeking or mods, it's perfect.

And I'll be buying it when I get home from work so I also haven't played it. There's just too much excitement in this thread, it seems. :)
Like Shadow Man, another game I once played for the N64 that I wouldn't mind checking out again. Wishlisted for now.

Dzsono: This had some dodgy DRM if I remember correctly.
An early version of SecuROM IIRC.
1080p and full Xbox controller support. So it's oh so very playable in a living room. Fantastic game, in my opinion as good as Mario Kart, if not better depending on which of the Mario Karts one compares it to.

Excellent! :D

I'm curious if I and the peeps here helped bring this game to GOG or not. I believe we mentioned Re-Volt once or twice, but I don't remember if we were able to contact anybody (IE, We Go Interactive Co.) on the matter. :P

In any case, great to see this here! I do hope we'll be seeing a new publisher appear in the following weeks as an end celebration!

EDIT: Hey, where is the game forum? I can't seem to find it when searching.

Nice to see this one here finally! No longer have to care about the well being of my physical copy. Two questions though. Did you use the unofficial 1.2 patch? And does it include the CD audio from the original version?

Fever_Discordia: Good to know! Still kinda curious as to who H2 are though, they seem to have no web presence other than a Korean site that also seems to also mention Bohemia Interactive in the google preview but then the site forbids access!
The big question is why H2 has the rights to Re-Volt. After the demise of Acclaim, Throwback Entertainment purchased most of their IP in 2006, and then proceeded to sit on them for years. Then, in 2010, this small Korean company, WeGo Interactive seemingly purchased the rights from them and commissioned BigBit, a studio composed of former Black Rock employees, including one of the main guys behind Re-Volt, Nick Baynes, to develop a port for mobile phones. And that's where the saga ends. I assume maybe H2 bought WeGo, but there's no indication of this.

So, following that line, this would be a one-off Acclaim acquisition, like Darkman and Valiant Comics, GOG's doing a god job of working out where they've all got to at least, though!

*edit* Re-Volt is the only game that Mobygames lists under WeGo at all!

Some awesome Korean Engrish on the WeGo website, BTW
'Does a customer satisfaction with first priority'
LOL kind of sounds like a 'customer satisfaction' might be a euphemism for something!

That sounds about right. Good riddance, I say :)

F4LL0UT: Hell yeah. Was wondering when we'd get this one. I remember playing an RC car racing game with my cousin in splitscreen a lot, I think that's actually the one.

Edit: Re-Volt does have splitscreen mode, right?
If I recall correctly, only the console version has split-screen, the PC one you have to play online .
