When being a master of a dungeon just doesn't cut it.

Overlord + Raising Hell, a fantasy action-adventure game in which you become a revenant lord commanding his mean minions to ravage and conquer the realm, is available on GOG.com, for only $9.99.

Ooooooh! Now I'm really mad! They shouldn't have done that. Fools! What's the big idea, putting me in that tomb? Yes, I was dead. So what? Like death ever stopped any lord of evil and treachery before. Death is like a brother to me! Well, a second cousin, but we still keep in touch. Did they seriously think I would stay dead? Those maggots, those idiots, I'll rip off their arms and feed them to the crows. Then I'll feed the crows to the wild dogs. Then I'll make dog stew and feed it to those basterds! Oh, yes, my wrath will be terrible, my retribution swift! Minions! Minions!!! Minions!!!!! Gather, my faithful beasties. The time has come. We go to war. Ha! Haha!!! Hahahaahhahaah!!!!!

Overlord + Raising Hell presents you with a whole fantasy realm ready for plucking. In this action-adventure title you become an evil (or, optionally, really evil--the choice is your's) revenant lord that plans to take over the kingdom by force and take revenge on the corrupt heroes who ruled it in his absence. He's accompanied by a host of vile gremlin-like minions that blindly follow his command. That adds another layer of gameplay in the lines of simple real-time strategy. The GOG.com edition comes with the Raising Hell expansion for maximum impact.

You can practice being evil by stealing candy from some babies, selling it to diabetics, being sued, winning the case, getting amends for being traumatized by the legal system, and then spending it all ($9.99 that is) on Overlord + Raising Hell on GOG.com!

MadalinStroe: Okay... I'm going to need some proof of that because at this time my bullshit sense is tingling.
avatar
Fenixp: You're going to need a proof of what constitutes as 'old'? Are you serious?
I was referring to this:

it has been made clear numerous times that what it takes for GOG to consider something 'old' is about 4 years

When, where?
avatar
Fenixp: Well I for one do to be fair, I mean it's not like I have more important things in life than Babylon 5 :-P However, that would be television lying to you. GOG has never said what are they going to release - and it has been made clear numerous times that what it takes for GOG to consider something 'old' is about 4 years.

MadalinStroe: Four years old games can be cataloged as old games and possibly CLASSICS?
Okay... I'm going to need some proof of that because at this time my bullshit sense is tingling.
In the computer world evrything older than 2-3 years is old.
Heck even if you buy a new computer today chances are pretty big it will be unmodern before long.
The same can be said about games,
Torrorows games will eventually end up as old, and usally its pretty fast.

MadalinStroe: When, where?
Oh, I see. Look one post above yours.
Great game. I totally enjoyed this back when it was initially released. Never bothered with the expansion though. I'd recommend it :)

JMich: And I can't find the thread for the second release (Omerta DLC). Is it because there isn't one or because they have hidden it? Hm, must go deeper.
avatar
TheEnigmaticT: We didn't make a release thread for the most recent DLC. :)
It looks as though you also forgot to add this one to the Omerta 'series', so it shows up on searches but not as a related item on the Omerta gamecard.
Honestly what does it matter if this game is truly old or truly classic? It is a great game that is older, if not old by your definition, that needed to be DRM free. The game is almost 6 years old.

Hopefully this leads the way to Overlord 2, Dirt 2, Grid, Fuel and other Codemasters games.

I complete the game and the expansion. I liked the expansion, it was a nice diversion in the game.

JMich: Here you are. Released June 2, 2010, back when GOG was Good Old Games. Does this mean they considered it a classic?
I'm not certain if the last question was addressed to me? If so then my answer is that I had hopped that it wasn't considered a classic. King's Bounty: The Legend is an amazing game and near the top of my TBS games list, but I for one wouldn't yet call it a classic.

I call a classic a game that manages to stand the test of time. A game that although might seem outdated at first, it still manages to draw you in and eventually prove that what you initially perceive as "flaws" were actually carefully refined design decisions.

King's Bounty: The Legend is a Good Game.

Then I guess King's Bounty: The Legend is a Good Old Game.

I'm trying to answer to multiple post and so it takes a while.

I think that you'll find terms 'old' and 'classic' are interchangeable in the GOG's PR vocabulary.
While there's still plenty of good old games to go through, that list is getting shorter and shorter (especially when you consider some are never going to see release due to licence limbo). If you're not willing to accept a 6 year old game as an old game, well, sooner rather than later, there aren't going to be any worthwhile "old" games they can put up.
I played this before the expansion came out (and then again when it did) and it's pretty good.

When can we expect the sequel on GOG?

I have already said exactly that.

That seems to be the case.

I never said that. In fact I 'm certain I said the exact opposite.

I was just talking to people complaining in general, wasn't coming for you specifically :)

Hang on a minute! Am I to understand that any two year old game that is also GOOD has a possibility of being released as a classic. Well that just ruined my day, because the classic release was the one I was most looking forward to on GOG. I guess I misunderstood the context in which "classic" was used.

Hmm I'd thought about getting this a while back in physical form and it would have cost more. Not sure why I didn't but might get it this time. Next pay day perhaps.
Great price with bonus content - wishlisted for now and definite buy if on sale in the future.
