These little grey cells. It is up to them.--Agatha Christie

Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor, a non-linear puzzle-packed adventure featuring the teen detective's most ominous and mystical case ever, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99.

A shadow has befallen the Blackmore Manor and its inhabitants. The staff whispers of a curse and there are evident signs of witchcraft to be found around the property. There's an angry howling in the nights and there's no way that it can be simply attributed to wind. Something is very, very wrong in the old British mansion and it seems that everyone living there, or merely passing through, puts their life in a grave danger. Luckily Linda Penvellyn, the lady of the house, managed to call for help before she was struck down with strange illness. Who did she call? Why, of course you--Nancy Drew!

Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor is an adventure game featuring the famous teen detective. The Blackmoor Manor that serves as the scene to the mystery you'll be solving is an intriguing place, and its exploration is both challenging and enjoyable--even more so, that the game doesn't force any particular order in which you must solve the puzzles. Speaking of puzzles, there's much variation to them so if you're stuck at one, you'll always get the chance to change the pace and come back to the problematic part later. With a story focusing on things like witchcraft, curses and lycanthropy, this is the darkest of the Nancy Drew games, but it's still well within limits of content appropriate for the young gamers.

Power up those little gray cells and solve the incredible mystery presented in Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor, for only $5.99 on GOG.com!
More Nancy drew games please :) There are loads of episodes ;)
Hmm I always thought these games were aimed at a younger audience. So probably not for me but good to see a wide audience is catered for on GOG. Fun for the whole family.

Licurg: This looks like a kiddie game.
I mean, it's based on a series of children's books, so you could call it that if you wanted. Doesn't mean it can't be good, though.

Didn't say it can't be good(haven't played it, so I have no idea) Just noticing that we're getting more games suitable for kids lately, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Yer back! How's life treating you?
I want more people to give these games a chance. It is nice that this one was picked as it is one of the strongest in the franchise.

Yes I am a 20 year old man who has played them all. They are decent adventure games.
While I doubt this'll ever become a top seller, there are probably worse games already in the library.
Brilliant! Im very happy to see the ND series start to appear on here :) I actually emailed Her Interactive about a few months back asking if any would appear and now... Yay! :D

True: They are not all great (White Wolf of Icicle Creek being a real stinker for example) but theres also plently of high-notes. Im really glad to see GOG begin with this one as its definetly one of the more interesting titles in the series :)

Oh and at theres 28 Titles. 29 if you include the remake of the first game and 31 if you include the two hidden object spinoffs (they stopped doing them because the fans hated them so i'll be suprised if they appear here)

Fred_DM: oh god, here come the casual hidden object adventures...
Please note: The Nancy Drew Series on PC are actually full fledged point and click adventures. (Theres two Hidden Object ones but are called Nancy Drew Case Files and are not marked as the main series).
Okay is Nancy Drew suitable for older gamers as well? I mean is the the fact it's designed for younger really obvious like in some games? Cause I badly want to play a Agatha Christie style game on GOG :P

Difficulty wise it flickers between easy and tough. Nothing REALLY taxing ala Journeyman Project though. Its not really designed as much for younger gamers as more acceptable for younger gamers (Hint: Dont choose the easy difficulty if you want any challenge)

Story-wise is it obvious?

No, Most of the time its not obvious. I dont know if I would call that a strong point or week point. Depends how it was done. And that depends on the game.

Agreed. Sometimes the various puzzles and tricks work well (Such as the stuff here) however other times the puzzles seem completely out of place to the setting and plot and make you go 'Huh? Why is there a puzzle of this kind here?"
