ThomNG: I wrote an email to my friends at GOG on that topic.
Good work , hope we get it here :)

Lifthrasil: *sigh*

Again a German adventure without the German language. I'll pass and get it when the original language is added.
avatar
ThomNG: It will most likely never be added, see my post above. Sorry.
Cheers
Too bad. :-( Then I'll have to get it somewhere else.

ThomNG: (so difficult to stay on topic today ;) ).
True. So how are the chances on Red Faction and Titan Quest? :D

You know, that is the problem I understand, and I'm always for more options for gamers, but in the end, German language is only useful for German speaking people and maybe for some other who like to suffer while playing a game ;)

I'm a bit tired of people saying "no german = no buy". It was important at the beginning, but now everyone at GOG (and at Nordic too) knows it's important to release German language if possible. And I'm sure they will do it if possible.

Now, when you all come to this thread and say "no german = no buy" then it's a bit selfish - most gamers don't bother with german language and would like to hear something about the game. Day 1 release on GOG.

So, we all know you folks want German language, some of us care, other don't, let's go back to the game.

ThomNG: I wrote an email to my friends at GOG on that topic. Now back to Jack Keane 2 (so difficult to stay on topic today ;) ).
I'm wondering, is it good decision to release a game during the summer sale season?

I think the sales might suffer in some way, because people are spending money on those games that are tagged 50% or 75% off. And I'm not talking about GOG sale only, but it's Steam sale around the corner, and people will be spending money on games with reduced prices rather than new releases.

Other than that, I'm glad you release new game here. I have all Nordic games on GOG but Jack Keane, and I hope you will release your new IPs here (I know you will :P)

This looks like a fun release.
Wishlisted.
Wish the first game was on here for like $5.99 or something though.
I'm a completist when it comes to game series.
This does look nice, but I will wait for the original to appear here first.

Also, Titan Quest? With the add on? Heehee, mine.
Thanks for pointing it out. Voted.

I'm willing to give it a try but I'd like to buy (& play) the original game here first. I played it a bit years ago with the most horrible Czech translation I have ever seen, so I never finished the beginning. Now when I understand word or two in English, I'm all for giving it a second chance :). I've heard that it isn't so bad.

This game looks utterly delightful. I've never heard of the series. Unfortunately this summer sale has given me 3 lifetimes-worth of games to play first. I'll probably buy it, but like Mivas and 011284mm say, I'll wait until the first one is available. I've never been one to play games out of sequence.

Also this----v

Looks great. Will likely buy after the discount lifts.

Why on earth is a Painkiller game not an insta-add? :( :( :(
looks like it could be good. My maximum is usually around $20 for a PC game so I'll wait. That and the current exchange rate adds $1.30 or so for every $10 I spend means I'll have to pick this up on a special.

Glad I had a quick look in the forums, appears with the large summer sale section at the top of the pages I'd forgotten the news section was still down there but at the bottom 1/3 of the page, I'd not been looking for it not expecting new releases while the sale was on.

keeveek: What? GOG rejected Arcania and The Guild 2? the hell...
avatar
RS1978: I would like to buy Arcania on GOG. It was a very nice ARPG with wonderful graphics. No true Gothic 4 anyway, but I liked it. I hope, GOG will change their mind.
I'd probably buy it too.
Looks pretty good, will get it payday

For those who'd like to play the original Jack Keane first but don't already own a copy, it's currently on special for $2 at ShinyLoot.com. It's a DRM-Free download, and the site is reliable. The sale lasts for a few days. The only language listed is English.

Not quite as good as having it on GOG, but a good option for those who are intrigued by Jack Keane 2 but can't face starting a series with a sequel.

Re: translation: I thought the English translation was perfectly acceptable. Certainly not horrible, although some of the supporting voice work was iffy. Some odd accents, and at times you could tell that the voice actors hadn't recorded the conversation together. I'm pleased to hear that localization should be improved for Jack Keane 2.

The website looks great. Thank you for telling me about it. They even have Gray Matter :). It doesn't look like there are any region restrictions, so I'm going to check it out closer.

I hope to see original Jack Keane on GOG.
