Spherical solitude.

InFlux, a beautiful physics-based puzzle game with beautiful outdoorsy setting and fantastic musical background, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 for the first week.

A mysterious metallis sphere falls from the sky on a seemingly forgotten desert island. Does it make a sound when it reaches the ground, if there's nobody there to hear it? That's a good, philosophical question. It won't be answered in this game, however. In this case you were the witness its fall, so you would know if there was any sound on impact. The purpose of the sphere and the nature of strange structures that surround you on the island, remain a mystery that can be solved only by you.

InFlux is an intriguing game with physics-based mechanics, in which you controll the movements of a metallic sphere to solve mind-bending puzzles. Strange cubic domes scattered across a large outdoors free-roaming area provide unique challenges that will test your logic and perception, as you try to unlock the many secrets of the island that the game is set upon. With beautiful graphics and phenomenal music background this game delivers many hours of relaxed, yet challenging and diverse gameplay.

Discover the secrets of the island and the meaning of its many mysterious contraptions in InFlux, for only $8.99 on GOG.com. The 10% off discount offer lasts until Tuesday, July 29, at 12:59PM GMT.
Aha! Release number 2 today. Almost slipped by...
This looks very, very interesting.
Gah

Curse you, JMich and HGiles (lol at the similarity in the names), wanted to post first for once, too :P

Watched the trailer and I gotta say: SUPER BAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!! :D
Looks funny enough, sadly I'm not one to enjoy puzzles that much, so I guess I won't be buying this (soon-ish, at least).

Wow.. those screenshots really don't tell me anything except that it's a strange puzzle game.
And one the selling points is that it features a whale...
I very much doubt this is for me, but I do like knowing something like this exists.
This game is beautiful... but I don't think I like the puzzles.
Review here: http://www.indiegamemag.com/editors-notebook-influx-the-most-relaxing-game-ever/

So it seems like it's a quirky, low-pressure puzzle game. Awesome! Definitely adding it to my collection.

EDIT: And here is the developers website. Looks like they're done a few other games as well? One may be a mod (can't tell), and one is an iOS game. http://impromptugames.com/

The screenshots SO remind me of the movie "Rubber".

People who aren't familiar with the movie are going "Huh?" and people who have seen it are going, "Holy shit! You're right!"
Thanks for the review link, HGiles. Sounds like it's decent fun and joy for puzzle lovers.

Yes, it really does. Not my cup of tea either, but as soon as I started watching the video, it immeadiately reminded me of these old puzzle box games I came across frequently as a kid...most notably in boxes of cracker jacks.

Wow, this game looks really nice . Anybody know how complicated the puzzles are? I usually don't play these games, so if it has a steep learning curve I'm gonna stay away from it.
Looks like something I will enjoy. Wishlisted!
Looks great. Reminds me a bit of Neverball (which itself is 'inspired' [read: blatant rip-off] by Super Monkey Ball).

Wishlisted for now, as I have a shit load of stuff to play from the GOG Summer Sale, The Last of Us, Persona 4, and three Steam Summer Sale games to play, and my backlog is in danger of collapsing from the weight.

Yeah.. but in these puzzle box games you're not the ball, and the damn box doesn't keeps turning around you to make you dizzy.. ;p
... also you didn't have to suck other balls (!!) in order to advance...

You Bastard! I'm having horrific childhood flashbacks looking at that picture.

Oh man, 20 years of therapy down the drain! :(
