More of the old-school goodness.

Eschalon Book II, sequel to an old-school RPG with open world, classic gameplay mechanics and isometric graphics, is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's only $4.99 for the first week!

Nowadays, you get to know everything about a new game long before its development is complete. You get trailers, sneak peeks, developer interviews and diaries, progress updates, and concept-art showcases. It's all fun and exciting, but doesn't it take away a bit of the pleasure of visiting a brave new world for the first time, you get when you actually play for the first time? Basilisk Games team think it does, so they took a different approach, developing their RPG saga in secrecy, and sharing very little information about the game prior to its release. You know, just like in the old days!

Eschalon Book II sports the same old-school looks and mechanics that made the first part so well received by classic RPG games fans. Without messing around with the time-proven concepts it adds some modern things like higher resolution, weather affecting not only how the game's world looks, but also how the game plays, and many other little tweaks. What you get here, is a direct sequel to the first game, with just enough modifications to make it up to date. More classic computer role-playing for everyone!

Continue your fullfiling old-school cRPG experience with Eschalon Book II for only $4.99! That's 50% off the regular price until Tuesday, May 14, at 9:59AM GMT.
Pretty sure I got these already. Haven't gotten anywhere near playing them though.

whodares2: I'm so glad to see these titles here. About 4 months ago I was tempted to get them from Steam, then I sobered up and decided to wait and see if they would ever show up here; eureka! Very glad I waited.
I did the same, still check steam and other outlets for deals but since I prefer the GoG model, library and support for the older games (some of which on steam don't even play without making major system changes which effect everything else you may be doing) for anything that I think GoG might get I'd much prefer to get it here than elsewhere.

Have to go grab these now, but unfortunately probably won't have time to play them for a while since severely backlogged with other games currently and I've found that if I go ahead and install something just to give it a taste, I'm much less likely to come back to them if I'm still in the middle of something else, at least for my play style and times it works best for me to wait till I'm actually ready to commit to playing a game before I dive in (plus doing it the other way I often lose track of the story and what I'm supposed to be doing and then get torn between continuing a game and starting over).

011284mm: Sorry, can anyone get an image of the face in the advert?
I have tried to catch him several times and I always come press pause a little too late.

On the games, they look really nice. Will pick theses up with any good deals this week.
Speaking of a little too late, you should have bought the Be Mine bundles. Stop missing out on things. :P

Thank-you, I now have a new background image, and I have added the GOG thread to my watch list.
Much appreciated +1
Finally, the Eschalon Series has come to GOG.com !
This is a great series. I got these on sale from Gamersgate a while ago and I loved them. I'm buying a second copy right now, just to support the devs. Can't wait for book 3!

If you do buy a second copy you maybe could give it away to somebody here. Or would that reduce the supporting of the devs...
Fantastic! Placed this right on my wishlist for a future buy. :)
Highly underrated game! Very refined game for those who seek interesting adventure and with good challenge difficulty! Too bad i already played this game, so i cant relive first time playing experience! :)
Finally finished it. Awesome game. Here's to Book 3 showing up on the 14th!
